It’s fine. A dying anemone will have a gaping mouth. It will deflate, which is exactly how it sounds. It won’t be ‘puffy’ at all, even the tentacles will deflate and get stringy. It will often expel its guts from its mouth. Here is a pic of a dying/dead anemone. It’s a carpet anemone so the tentacles are different….but a dying anemone is easy to spot. A sick anemone will show varying degrees of deflating and mouth gaping.

Thank you so much!

Looks a bit off, but not dead or dying.

Nems are not nearly as fragile as you believe. Heck they tear their face in half on a good day. Give it a bit. Watch for multiple inflation/deflation cycles a day. Watch for a gaping or protruded mouth.

The stress of the event Could cause your nem to split. Just don't add additional stress by feeding it for a few weeks.

Very helpful info I appreciate it more than yall know!

I had one RBTA go through the teeth of my AiO overflow, into the bottom of the first chamber. Twice. I had to not-so-gently pry him out of the back using long frag tweezers. The second time I made it mad enough to split, but now both RBTAs are happy in the display portion of the tank. :D

Wow that's amazing! Hopefully mine will rebound. He won't pick a place to stay, so I have left my wave maker off until I see he has found a spot... worried something else must be off those because my Green Star Polyps aren't coming out in a day or so.

That is not a Magnifica or BTA so it is not splitting. Rather I think it is sick. It is hard to tell from the two pictures regarding the species of this anemone.
