I’m not saying you’re a liar or anything in that sense, just for this specific bacterial infection a freshwater dip isn’t going to do anything, it’s not flukes or ich or brook so what would exactly the freshwater dip do? It’s not a parasite or anything clinging on to the fishes gills or anything of that sort

You’re missing the point. We’re not using specific gravity here as the remedy. Were using the chlorine content of the water as the remedy. Chlorine is an antibacterial that they put into the water to make it drinking safe for us. It will also work on the bacteria that is infesting the fish’s wound. I clearly stated in my post that I’ve done this twice successfully on angelfish. If the OP wants to proceed he’ll let me know. But I don’t appreciate people like you telling me that I don’t know what I’m talking about.

And why make the already stressed fish go through something like that? Just sounds like you’re fine with gambling your fish dying from the tap water dip rather than treating them in their ‘natural’ environment. When there’s so many meds and things that are proven to work without adding more stress into your fish.

These are your exact words verbatim.
“This is where acclimation will be very important
Float for 20-30 minutes
Transfer fish and water into a clean bucket. Add aeration if possible”

So you’re telling her to float the bag and then empty the contents of the bag into a bucket. Those contents being the shipping water. Dude. I don’t care how many fish stores you’ve managed. I know a phony when I see one.

To the OP. While its true that chlorine could be harmful to fish, it won’t be in the concentration present in tapwater and not for the 5 to 10 minutes that we will be exposing the fish to in a tapwater bath. Let me know if you want to proceed.
