So I'm putting together my aquascape and thought I would ask for opinions. I'm thinking about an arch over top middle. I'm also planning on another 20lbs of live rock so maybe use it for front center cave and sump?

I'm a fan of arches, but there are various articles that suggest your eyes naturally prefer one side to be higher than the other. I'll see if I can locate them.

You have to consider growth space for corals and negative space for fish. Stick with something original and not following the norm of stack piling rocks.

go high a few inches from top on left side then a short pile on the right. I would epoxy them so you can go high.

Aha!

corals going up on a high rock pile looks more natural then just placing them on the top of the rocks. the more holes in the scape the better. fish hiding spots and flow

go higher on one side but nice
Higher scape can impact on flow and limits where your powerhead will be. More rocks and elevated scape will block a lot of flows and once corals grow it will block even more flow. Something to keep in mind when you’re on the drawing board

You want flow through your rocks not over the top of them. High also hides power heads. Place one blowing behind your rocks and one in front of them.

I like higher on one side too, here is mine, not super visible in the pic but there is a smaller cave on the right side. I prioritized sps coral placement, second was swimming space for my fish and hiding spots. Flow works out fine right now with maxspect gyres alternating side to side

Aha!
Great article. I will make a few changes and post new pictures. Like I said the middle might become a live rock cave. And every rock has a cave inside of it.

That's beautiful

I like the second option in the last three pics, but can you remove the little middle rock off and place to make a bridge somewhere? The stacking look is just not my cup of tee.

I was in a struggle recently with my tank and the sandbed and hair algae. I had to pull all my rock out (I was in fallow) and redo it all. I decided to go with a attempt at little sand contact as possible for the rocks. It was very different from my other attemps that were more along the lines of rocks flat on sand and build up.

So far, the flow is better and I really like it. I will try to get pictures of it, but rockwork is hardto see once everything goes back in. :)
