Another first aquascape thread!

I was looking at rods and stax or Marco mortar. The structure is pretty secure stacked but would like to have extra security. I'm also looking at the live rock to finish setup. Thinking about 25lbs of Kp live rock or Tampa Bay saltwater. Prices about the same. Tampa just sends to airport and that's difficult for me to get to during the week. Kp I can ship to my house and gf can put in a holding tank until I get home. Decisions decisions. I'm mad salty bottom isn't shipping

How much total rock are you going for?

I am asking because your tank already looks pretty full, everyone does have a preference though,. I only have about 60-70lbs in a 105. I basically have rocks in the middle only with room on all sides

I plan to put some live rock in the sump also. Should've clarified that. Just some on top to seed dry rock. I was thinking about 10-15 lbs in display and rest in sump. Or vise versa do most in display and seed some dry in sump

I have sparse rock in my 210g. I have lots in the sump, but not in the display. Just make sure the rock work does not touch the sides and allows you to get your scraper in between. Very important.
Also, if you think you may want to play around or do soemthing different, make sure not the secure too much together as you will not be able to get it out.

Agreed. I think it would look better if a few of the smaller rocks were removed and there was a gap between two structures.
I will look into moving it around and make 2 structures. It's just all supported together. So it would almost be a full teardown to separate

I have some time rodi arrives Monday. I plan to mix 32g of saltwater at a time so will take about a week to fill. I still have a few final parts to get. I was planning on filling just to top of rock work and getting in the live rock and sand. Oh yeah and plumbing that's going to be fun. Working on that tonight

Wish I had one of those, I went with the stock on planet aquariums tank. Unfortunately I was laid of just as my tank came in and I could not justify spending the money to get a new overflow, mine works just took a lot of work to get it quieter due to placement of external box

Yeah I have been planning and building this tank since January 5th. Finally saved up and using some of taxes to finish it up. It's been a long process but worth the research.
