Hi All,
Im Andy and am a complete noob to SW. been FW keeper for along time with a break in between when one of my dogs chewed thru a leg on the tank stand. Long story short, the dog stayed but the fish didnt - the dogs left us last year and went to 'the farm', kids didnt adjust well so aquarium came back ( yay)
originally was going to be FW as always and is currently looking stocked and pretty but after some discussions we are going reef! however as the tank etc is new we are converting - not ideal but it is what it is we will do our best!
typical FW size, 48x15x24 no sump room. Going HOB Skimmer and using the existing canister for GFO / Carbon
Still making the list and it will be a couple of months to get the bits together - all about the money! so im using this time to digest all the info - from lurking about this seems to be the happiest reef forum even tho its not based on my side of the pond - just means i wont be buying electricals of you!

Anyhoo wanted to drop in and say hi and i may be asking stupid questions - the usual
cheers

Thanks for the welcome, if this is like every other forum then i know pics are obligatory so - heres the FW thats going to be converted.
It has changed a little - the bubble curtain has gone and a Tunze 6055 is in to get better surface movement, the angels that are hiding in that pic actually like it as its on min setting

Nicely done, you have a good eye for aquascape. Looking forward to seeing what you put together for your reef!

Hi Andy: Welcome. We're delighted to have you here. I'm new to saltwater myself. Don't be afraid to ask questions. Welcome to the family. And nice-looking FW tank. You definitely have some good taste.
