I just read Miss Mel's post. I see now. I could easy send him some Cajun sausage . LOL

Disclosure I didn't read the whole thing. What I do.... I keep 2 kg of ceramic in my sump. I take out for QT so it's cycled already when I need to setup, and add an amount of MB7 to the water as well. If it's prolonged QT I take out the ceramic from the QT HOB and bleach it, and replace with media from the sump and continue the rotation.

I also use system water for QT water changes and make fresh salt water for the main system.

QT is kind of a torture when you want to put it in, but it's well worth it. Don't learn the hard way lol. Its an STI (saltwater tank infection - come on people) you can never garuntee is completely gone in all cases.

You are sooo Right ! A sure hard lesson to learn ! Thanks for the advise .

Sorry HF ! They do have cajun sausage but it;s not made in store ! May I ask if Your busting my chops over the redneck groceries around these parts ? We even have
Piggly Wiggly groceries a little further west ! LOL

We are considering moving to Navarre and there is a Winn-Dixie there. ;)

I bet there is ! If Ya come to FL ,a Rowes or Save a lot would be a better place to look.

Hey Humble fish ,not sure if Ya have been to Navarre . It's real nice there on the panhandle !
Also I received my stuff today, got saltwater in the tank and measured it by the gallon. I need to get my bio boost (tomorrow) and see how long it takes to cycle. then get the fishout of the big tank. ! the butterfly is doing just fine, still out & eating well.

Thank You Miss Mel I take that as your sage approval ! The test kit is pretty straight forward So no probs there. I do have one more query, Please point me to a good step by thread for treating with copper. I have read so much my head is kinda swimming ! I promise not to ask a thousand & one questions ! LOL

Just got back from there. We really liked the areas off Hwy 98 in-between Ft. Walton & Gulf Breeze. Destin is too touristy.

Hey Humble Fish it would be cool to have You as a fellow Floridian ! I'm going to that thread now ! I may have already checked it out but will use that one .

OK , Ahh that was an interesting read to say the least ! I got thru pretty much all of it ! I have just a few Questions but they can wait till tomorrow !

I just finished the TT method compiled by Humble fish. Great article. I think that will be the way to go. I'll need some more stuff to set this up. However the butterfly is doing just fine. I'm confident I have the time.
I'm going to try my fish trap 1st. It will take some time maybe a couple of days if it works. I'll trap one then put the fish in the refugium.( it's a good size) . When i get all three, time will start. In the mean time I'll gather all stuff I need. thanks again for all the hard work to help fellow salt keepers !

I have a question for You Great Sages of knowledge & wisdom . After more research, I think the " TTM " will be what I try 1st. I did go out and order the copper and test kit etc. That stuff will be handy in the future. So on to the question
I put the internal filter in the infected tank to get some Benny's growing . I want to remove this filter & sterilize /make sure no ich or what ever is in it now. I plan to soak it in vinegar or bleach to kill any bad critters that may be hiding there ? I figure I can run it a while in some solution that will kill the stuff then run it in fresh water then let it dry out real good. Ya 'll think that will do it?
All picines seem to be doing just fine.

Clean everything with vinegar and then let it air dry thoroughly. That last part is key when it comes to disinfection.

You want the filter to use during TTM? Or am I not understanding?

I don't bother with one. You are changing the water every 3 days, so not likely to have too much build up, not to mention that it's hard to clean. I have 2 heaters and 2 tanks. I have a supply of new airstones and keep the water well oxygenated that way. While one tank is in use, the other is cleaned and dried. I never reuse the same airstone and line.

If it's just for the sake of having it at a later date, then clean with bleach or vinegar, rince well and thoroughly dry.

Thanks Humble, I was hoping the vinegar would do it. I'll be very sure to dry it completely . Canadian Reefer, I already have the tank I was going to treat with copper. Now I want it for a tank to observe a new fish when the time comes. this is what the filter will be for. I will buy 2 new tanks for the TT method. Can't decide if I want 10's or 20's.

PS Don't forget the meteor shower on the 11th or 12th ! If sky's are clear at Your house might be fun to step out and gaze the night sky ! If there are a lot You could make all kinds of wishes !

Ok, I bought 2, 10gl tanks at Petco today . They had 1, 20 long a stack of 10's & 15's but the 15's were not in the sale ! Figures. I'll give Ya a pic at the end. So here is my game plan, I will treat the Butterfly 1st. Then put it in the 20 for observation . Then I will treat the pair of clowns. This gives me plenty of time as I still have to go the 72 days tank fallow. I pray to the Fish Gods the butterfly looks OK so it can go in the 75. I may go back & buy the 20 long I'd feel a lot better with 3 fish in that instead of the 20 tall.I also have to dry out the internal filter & cycle the 20. Man this is going to be a pita with a crown! I learned my lesson I swear ! I'm getting too old for this !

LOL, I do have tiny gold hooks & I love to fish but it just wouldn't be right for me to do that to my beloved pets ! I do wonder how good a clown fish fights though . LOL I have a dear friend from Guam, she wanted to eat my
long spine urchin ! Anyway I went back to petco for the 20 long. The lady said I had to have a rewards card or such. I said I had just the day before bought 2 ,10's & the young guy didn't ask for a card. Asked for the manager. I got the 20 for sale price but I think I got the kid in trouble ! Sorry Man who ever You are. Anyway I got the 20 long setup and added 1/2 of a silver side. Hope it's enough to kick start the cycle. I even have a pick ! Wooo Wooo LOL I have everything I need now except the fish in the cooler! LOL Fishin in my aquarium, that's just not right ! lol

Good evening, Ok I'm getting impatient waiting to get some sort of a cycle. However at the same time it gives me a good excuse for trying to get these fish out of the tank.
Oh Ya ,I assume with this AM badge the center is supposed to color up to the differing colors that surround it ?

ps I left the w/d bag for Humble ! Come on down to FL !
