Another stocking / order list lol - 220g

anyway you can touch on this? im interested in what you do instead of qt. Thanks man'
Well, I could’ve sworn I had written a post about this but it’s vanished. Anyway, here you go :)

So, first off make sure you get healthy fish. Ideally, getting fish from an LFS is best however this isn’t always possible so if you can ask if you can get a video of the fish you want to buy from the vendor. Once you get a video or can look at them in person you’ll want to check for certain issues depending on the species. For example I love my wrasses, angels and gobies. I would look for different issues for each family, in wrasses I would look for;
1. Is it feeding (if so, how vigorously is it feeding) - Some species feed badly
2. Is it scraping against the sand/rocks or twitching - Signs of flukes/velvet/ich/parasites
3. Does it have a pinched stomach - Signs of parasites
4. Are they swimming weirdly, I.e. swimming vertically or in spirals - Signs of UNWD or Spinal Injury

Then in Angels I’d look for;
1. Are many scales missing - Signs of Brook
2. Is it feeding - Similar situation with Wrasses in they can be finicky with foods
3. Are they breathing heavily - sign of disease/parasites
And in Gobies I look for the same signs as I do with Angels.

Now, once this criteria has been checked and I’ve found a healthy fish I float it for 30 minutes depending on the salinity of the water (if it’s off by only 1ppm I’ll float if it’s off by more than that I’ll likely drip acclimate). Then once in the tank I’ll feed them and make sure any aggression settles ASAP.

Now, when I face disease in this system I have no QT to fix it with chemicals. So, I boost feed more and more until the disease/issue is gone. Sometimes I will continue the feeding and stick to several feeds but other times I go for one huge feed every day. I also added a Cleaner Wrasse and have always had several Cleaner Shrimp to also help with keeping my fish clean of disease. And yes, when I face disease or issues going on I do still add fish if it’s not a dangerous disease. My most recent example is my CBB currently going skinny for some reason (I believe it was due to feeding mysis) and yet I still added a juvenile radiant to ‘pair’ with my male :)

I’m not wanting to go the “typical” route for tangs. I love wrasses as you see with the complete list but I love tangs too.
Give me some ideas of some gorgeous tangs that aren’t “super common in every tank you see. “

I can’t make up my mind!!

This is what I’m feeling right now but add some others I should check out

White Cheek
Orangeshoulder Tang
Chevron Tang
Lemon Tang
Convict Tang

@vetteguy53081 help me please lol
Convict good if you get one thats eating
Chevron - IF you find one, will be a million bucks
White cheek good- be sure to QT, prone to velvet
Orange shoulder - Good choice, can get big
Lemon - Do you mean false yellow *chocolate tang) - If so, Mine is a model citizen
My lieutenant - tied with my Tomini for most docile

I have a friend wanting to sell his chevron - so it's a possiblity.

what about PBT with a white cheek? problems?

Acanthurus pyroferus was what I was thinking on the lemon.

also think about maybe a Acanthurus tristis?

PBT other than ich.. any thing else to look for?
They are known bullies that often never tone down their disposition and are great at antagonizing other tangs
