Another stocking / order list lol - 220g

Youre welcome! I do love regals, one of my favorite angels. Mine is very active in the tank now that shes comfortable and I see her out and about all the time. Stunning fish! And yeah gold rims are beautiful fish! Heres my regal Annabelle! Orange belly red sea variant.
How well do regals go through QT?

Can be rough from what Ive seen and researched. Ill be honest Mine was rough because they delivered her a day early and I wasnt able to acclimate her to the tank properly due to work and time constraints and almost lost her. She bounced back after a few days and then I slowly trained her to eat frozen while mixing live brine shrimp until she was fully eating frozen. Shes in my DT now and doing very well. Regals also love clams on the half shell!

If you can get a captive bred, those are way easier to handle and adapt to tank life as some regals just dont adapt and die :(

Ok. We will do an observation period before any meds then - sounds good. I’ll try to get a captive bred regal. No promises tho lol

Yeah I tried to find a captive but couldnt. Biota just had some for sale I think! I got mine from world wide corals and shes super healthy. Other than they not communicating when they ship fish or no notification and sending them a day early I like them. She was very healthy when she arrived!

Yea. Praying that doesn’t happen here

If you do get a Captive bred, I’d personally throw it into the DT if your fish aren’t too large by then (if they are, then go for the observation method until she grows). I wouldn’t personally QT however this is my own opinion - there are some diseases you may be unable to combat however there are many you can combat in the DT through boost feeding and adding a cleaner wrasse/shrimp/goby.

The other thing is, if you do intend to QT you’ll want to do it properly.
Quarantine your Sand and Rock through a fallow period.
Quarantine all corals and inverts that will go into the display.
Quarantine all fish (knowing you won’t always be successful and may have some that react badly to the chemicals).

If you only do the last step, IMO QT is pointless. You need to quarantine everything that enters as parasites can be dormant on coral and inverts and then go onto the fish.

This makes a lot of sense - hmm now you have me thinking

If you want to see my success;
I have combatted ich twice now but both times I’ve overcome it by feeding and keeping a cleaning station with shrimp and this time I added a cleaner wrasse. I’ve also managed to have fish that don’t eat thrive in a reef as they have plenty of food sources and are in a somewhat more natural environment. They also have other fish that feed to help them along.
Here’s just a couple of my fish, the Foxface and CBB are 4.5 years old. Infact, most of my fish are 3-4 years old.

Can you go into more detail on your feeding and how fish like your CB get eating through your feeding the tank? And can you explain about the part that other fish help feed them? Thanks

Love your list. Everything I was going to say pretty much has been said by someone at this point. Just curious how long is your tank? Also are you quarantining yourself or your LFS?

6 ft - and my LFS is qt'ing them for me per my instruction plus Im going in and checking them personally as well but that might be changing after my convo with "I can't think." Waiting for his reply on his no qt idea.

Cool, I was just wondering about QT because doing it at home would need many or huge quarantine tanks if you try and add several large fish at once.

I know someone said avoid the Naso tang but I had one for a good amount of time in a 6 foot 125 gallon and yours being a 6 foot with larger water volume I think would do great for a couple years. Mine was very cool non aggressive and gorgeous.

Pending size when you get him you will need to re-home him after he gets full grown.

Updated Wrasse Stock

we are adding a Macropharygondon moyeri and a cleaner wrasse to the list.

I’m not wanting to go the “typical” route for tangs. I love wrasses as you see with the complete list but I love tangs too.
Give me some ideas of some gorgeous tangs that aren’t “super common in every tank you see. “

I can’t make up my mind!!

This is what I’m feeling right now but add some others I should check out

White Cheek
Orangeshoulder Tang
Chevron Tang
Lemon Tang
Convict Tang

@vetteguy53081 help me please lol

Chevrons are unavailable currently however I’d also look at the Tennetii Tang :)
