Does any one know of any company's that have a planed sale coming up? There is 2-3 pieces of equipment i want with tax returns thats gonna run two thousand ish so 15+ off would shave a bunch off.

You could call Premium Aquatics to see if they'll cut you a deal. I've heard of them cutting deals for people when buying a bunch of stuff.

They cut mea a deal before on a 1000+ fixture but it was only ten percents, i was hoping for 15 or more, i mean thats 300 i would be saving, i was just seeing if any one knew any upcoming sales.

He is my zeo guy lets just say he makes sure he has a zeo user for life. Yea my tax return is much more then i though apparently my job took out alot more a week then i thought. Im not spending nearly all my return on Fish tank just a new frag tank set up along with a little extra to help out with the tank because i want to be able to controle my tank via iphone and labtop, my RKE just isnt cutting it.

Nice. I have my Droid X controlling my tank right now, with an Apex app I bought on the marketplace. It was only like 2.99. With the iPhone, you can download the app for free, which I've had in the past as well. It is very nice to be at work and check out the tank parameters.

It came in handy the other day when I was getting fish. I wanted the lights to stay on later so I could see them when I put them in, so I pulled up my app, changed my lights to On from Auto, and it worked like a charm. Keep in mind you'll have to open a port on your router at home to connect when not using your home wifi. I changed my Apex to use port 8080

I have mp comp lingo port 8080. I was gonna simply buy a cheap dell labtop to place net to the tank hooked up the my wireless router and have the thing hooked into that at all times.

Man, that sucks. Its nice to have the remote access. You just need your public IP address (which can change), open the port on the router, and point it to the Apex IP address. Its kind of like a "real" firewall, do a NAT from the public address to the private, and then create an ACL to allow port 8080 in from the interwebs.

Does the manual have this is step by step or am i gonna need to call geek squad and look dumb. That sounds pretty complicated.

Build crap for a living I do not Follow directions at all!!!! That's the joy I look at a Picture and go!!!!! This computer and following directions stuff isn't my cup of juice I got a 1000$ camera that makes a great paper weight because I can't read and follow the directions..

On the Apex, just change the port to what you want. You can keep it at 80 if you want. The rest of the work is on the router. If you have a Linksys, its under Applications & Gaming. You can get your public IP address by going to What Is My IP Address - Shows Your IP Address

So im doing that on my Computer or the router looking for that IP adress? Once i have it im sure i will posat up some questions.

You will assign an IP address to the Apex. Probably check the IP address of your machine, and assign it something far away from it, to make sure that your router doesn't assign it to something else (IP Conflict). You can change around the DHCP scope but thats getting more complicated.

Then, in the router, you'll find the Applications & Gaming. Put the port in (80), and then put the IP address of the Apex in there. That basically tells the router that if it sees traffic coming IN on port 80, forward it to the Apex.
