Sorry I don't understand. I don't know why it fluctuate I'm still learning. I do dose mg and AK. Test the new water or old? I only test new water for salinityStability.
Why does it fluctuate?
How.... Do you test the water before changing it? SG that is.
My refracWhat are you using to test salinity?
That looks like a pulsing Xenia and usually those are very forgiving but also like a canary in the coalmine if something has them off. They'll start to curl like that and shrink up. Good news is they will come back when things get back into line.Hi still new to this and my tank is 7 months old. Paramaeters are stable. Salinity 1.023 ca 440 mg 1180 AK 8.9 o ammonia 0 nitrite 10ppm nitrate 8 ph. I feed once a week roids plus some plankton and aqua elixir. Change water once a week. I did have an ammonia spoke last week due to a clam dying while o was away for 4 days. Any help appreciated pics attached. All other corals seem fine

130 galWhat is the tank size?
Ah I meant mg?
I use api for ammonia and nitrate. Salifert for ca mg and akThat looks like a pulsing Xenia and usually those are very forgiving but also like a canary in the coalmine if something has them off. I see that you report Nitrate and Phophate in okay levels. What was the actual test that you used? Salifert? API? Red Sea? Something else? Asking because I've seen different test entirely mis-lead me as to what was wrong especially for Phosphate and Nitrate. Based on what you mention, feeding roids on a 7 month old tank, I would not be surprised if your phosphate was significantly higher than that and the cause of your issues.
Ah yes I thought they were stable lolYou
Said stable .
but there are fluctuations . They’re asking if you test the new water before water changes
It’s not too often a 7 month old tank Is stable to what’s required to keep sps healthyAh yes I thought they were stable lol
So any tips or just let it runs its course ans keep maintaining itIt’s not too often a 7 month old tank Is stable to what’s required to keep sps healthy
Well my vote would be to take a second look at the Nitrate and Phosphate. Roids especially will raise Phosphate. This doesn't happen quickly usually in a new tank because the rockscape initially acts as a phosphate sink though eventually it'll saturate and the phsophate increases in the water column.I use api for ammonia and nitrate. Salifert for ca mg and ak
Ok, just checking if maybe something was out of calibration. I personally like the BRS solution. My refrac
