Looks like an Amphipod. Possibly Copepod. Either way, good microfauna for your tank.

Yup. Amphipod. Free clean up crew and fish food. Copepods have a different body shape.

I'm definitely going with poop too. If you don't have something you know would poop like that, then you have something you don't know about. Did you say which snails you had? No cuke or seahare or anything?

Grab some and smoosh it between your fingers.

I don't think you would notice the poop if water flow was increased. Do you have mechanical filtration?

It's snail poop lol got it all out the other day waiting on my gravel vac to get here so I can stay on top of it and as for a filter I just have a hob auqua clear 70 can anyone recommend a decent hob skimmer for a decently cheap price ( with a new born I stay on a budget lol )my tank is not drilled and its 26 gallons

I would save up for a decent skimmer. Maybe an aquamaxx hob-1 with bubble remover. I say that because you don't need a skimmer just yet. I would up your water flow. For now you could get away with 1 jebao rw/pp-4 to create a wave effect. That will help suspend detritus so that your AC 70 can remove it.
