check craigslist, you can almost always count on a deal on there. eshopps makes good, entry-mid level stuff which id recommend starting out with. gives you time to go through the softie, lps, sps, **** it phases lol. wish you came in to the hobby earlier. i just unloaded a nice complete cube setup

Do you think a Eshopps PSK300 would do the trick or should I go bigger? I know they day ALWAYS go bigger if you can

I don't have any experience with Eshopps skimmers, but bigger is typically better for skimmers.

So I did not even post this to my build thread I want a better pic. Be nice its new yet a baby up for 1 month 27 days :). not bad for after the crash

Wow your office too! That's great.

I bet I can't even imagine. Is alot of it glued or reinforced?
I'm going to probably lose some strands of hair trying to figure out how I'm going to do mine lol.

I'm with Mandee bro, congrats on a sick scape! I seen you're in Albany, I'm right in Cohoes. Small world huh

That is an old wet/dry filter, not sure what brand, but it looks like it's been used hard, and put away wet. If you're considering a new sump, I would look at the Eshopps channel design sumps. I just bought one of these for a new system, and though I don't have it up and running, the design is very good. In fact, it incorporates lots of the features on custom made, super high end sumps and the finish matches Aqua Vertex products well, if that's of any importance to you. The channel design allows more contact time with water on all sides of the sump. Water flows in the intake, up to an overflow and through a micron bag, then through a media shelf (which is removable) over to a totally segmented off refugium column (no more sand and rock rubble floating through the sump) then to the skimmer chamber and finally back to the tank.

Funny this is actually the one I was looking into getting

Like I say, I don't have mine up and running yet, but the general build quality and design seems quite good. I do have one of the older Eshopps sumps on one system and have been pleased with it. They are priced well under custom made sumps, and even lower than some of the mass produced ones, but I find they perform equally as good.

I just use glass tanks for mine. If you want baffles you can get pieces of glass cut and then silicone them in. I ordered sock holders and hung them on the side.
