Looks good to me also this product is a cake changer for people who hate filter socks !!!! I pushing 600 gph into the unit how about yourself ?

I'm moving around 315GPH through my sump as measured by the Neptune flow meter on my manifold. From what I understand that flow is somewhat expected on certain Red Sea tanks due to the 5/8" return line size.

Been working very well for me. I flow 315gph through my sump.

Curious to see how long fleece will last. It has been one week exactly and I would say there are many weeks still remaining of clean fleece.

hello guys
my klir fleece roll consumed totally in 6.5 days !!!! 320gph flow..
is this normal, doesn't it supposed to serve a month or so??
what about you guys - for how long did your roll serve??

I was thinking about getting one of these, but now that I have seen the price in Canada and the cost of the replacement rolls, I will stick with socks for now.

Its running 324.99 CAD$ plus tax.

The replacement roll is almost $20 CAD$

For that kind of cash, I find socks a decent enough value.....lol

Not from my experience so far. Mine has been running for about a week and besides moving it manually to test the motor it has moved about one inch using the sensor. If this stays consistent I expect to get several months per roll of fleece.

You may want to contact Klir about your usage.

That's my worry here. Unless something is off, 6.5 days is insane. Socks would have been cheaper and you'd have a $300 head start for bulk purchase.

That said, we need more feedback.

klir answer:

Hello,

That is a loaded question. Depends on how much you feed, how many fish you have, what type of fish you have, if you have sandbed, do you clean the sandbed, do you do water changes and so forth. The fleece traps flee floating particles in the water so if there are lots of them, then the fleece gets clogged up quickly and it will be consumed fast.

Unfortunately there is no straight answer for the question you are asking. It all depends on your tank.

I have been up since last Sunday and I have not consumed too much fleece. I would watch the klir for a little to watch the operation.

I drew a small line with a sharpie on the side of the sump at the level where the Klir’s optical sensor is. I can see as it slowly creeps up and then as it advances a small amount of fleece the water level quickly drops. This cycle runs several times throughout the day.

Make sure it is working like I described.
Maybe the water runs too high or the splashing or turbulence from the drain is hitting the sensor and activates the motor more frequently than it should.

I foresee at MINIMUM over a month for the fleece. Likely more

my klir is operating just like what you described.. but it cycle several times throughout one hour not a day.. until i got the klir i used a 200 and 100 micron filter bags.. the klir fleece is 50 micron.. maybe my water is full with nano particles that have passed freely the filter bag but it now trapped within the klir..
i have installed another roll today and i will inform you how it will gone..

Has anyone managed to get this installed in a reefer 170? I reached out to Klir and they said that it is possible, but difficult and were looking at ways to get them into nano reefers and 170s.

Your sock chamber where the klir sits has relatively calm water?
No excessive turbulence or bubbles which would activate the sensor?

I also have been using 200micron socks before the klir (3x4” socks)

Is their a way to install one of these for those who made their own sump using another tank. Say like a standard 55. I ask bc as of now I just use a standard sock holder off the rim, but looking to see how I can add this
