Any tricks to Make a Dwarf angel eat?

The first thing mine went after was one of the frozen dwarf angel formulas that contain sponge. After that it ate Reef Frenzy, nori on a clip with the tangs, and most anything else in the tank.

I like using a turkey baster for my frozen foods too. I have more control with it. So with frozen, direct some food to one side of the tank (for more aggressive eaters) and direct some to another area (usually opposite side) for more timid or slow moving fish. I blow the thawed mixture very gently from the baster. This way if floats around more in the current (I leave my pumps on) giving fish more time to catch particles. If you blast food from the baster, it can startle new fish. Also more force makes it drops faster into the sand bed.

So try to occupy your more boisterous fish on one side & feed*** the potters on the other. This is less stressful to a new fish learning the pecking order in the tank. You can do the same thing feeding ***black worms, clams & all the other suggestions above.

I have a flame back angel that eats like a pig but was very fussy at first. I bought fresh scallops and froze them. I use a cheese grater (that I keep in the freezer) and grate some scallop over the tank . That got my flameback eating. Also had a bangai cardinal that I thought was not going to make it because would not touch pellets or flake. He eats the scallops like crazy. Just make sure to use a grater with holes that are small. Mine is a micro plane (looks like a big file). Good luck!

As long as his poo looks healthy, no signs of parasites, eventually he'll come around. I would re-stock the tank with pods, as said earlier offer live foods such as brine and black worms if you can find them. Offer an algae food such as hikari mega algae and rubber band some nori or live algae like caulerpa on a rock to sink to the bottom. My angels love to graze on the fern type caulerpa and live black worms. With other fish teaching him, as long as he has grazing keeping him alive, he'll eventually come around; as long as there is no issue with internal parasites, which does happen with these guys.

My Coral Beauty wouldn’t touch anything until I tried some Cobalt color flakes that I ground up to a fine dust in my fingers. She also took algae wafers but only if I put them to the back of the tank where she could pick at it and eat where she thought I couldn’t see her.

I have lots of different types of higher quality flake but food is food and that’s what she wanted. Picky little diva!

2 months!!!! How big is your system ? I have a ton of rock for him to Graze but I wanna get him eating additional ASAP

Mine sounds just like yours he’s a looker! Smh he looks at everything he gets on my face when I’m feeding looks at the turkey baster at the nori sheets and grazes at everything around it, the floating food but still no bite smh! This dude looks at everything lol.

Easy Reefs Masstick Fish Food. It's a powder you mix with water to become a putty that will stick to rocks. Great for grazers to get them to eat. You can get it from BRS or Amazon.

I had good luck with Reef Caviar the yellow frozen eggs. I had a similar situation with my copperband not wanting to eat pellets of flake still won't eat that but will eat all frozen foods now.

FYI still not eating but he’s super healthy my tang nipped his tail grew it back in a day or two, very active and is not scare or my hand anymore acts super hyper when I come in the room but still no eating I feed he looks at it and continues to graze

This is first time I’m not complaining about a lil hair algae growing in my rocks, left my greens and red channels up to keep promiting algae until he’s eating at least turning off my powerhead so he could clean it hes loving it

Going on 2 months this dude still refuses to even bite anything floating but he’s def not camera shy, though I should snap a few pics in case I loose him, but he seems healthy I’ve round belly, He pops everyday I seen him pop several times a day so I hope my pods and the algae is holding him down, I removed my hippo tang so he’s the only grazer I have and I have a lot of rocks to be serviced.

Some dwarf angels are just that way and if he is happy grazing on algae and appears to be active and healthy then I would say he's fine. Have you tried Seaweed/Nori. My Coral Beauty took to that before anything else.
