Trying to decide between an Orphek Atlantic LED or going back to halide/t5. Just not satisfied with coverage of any other LED fixtures and really don't like the rectangle black box look of most. Why all the small puck fixtures? I don't like the back of my sps turning white from lack of coverage. I like the look of the Orphek fixture but it seems like all I see are bad reviews from people who don't own one. Everybody that owns one seems to like them. I'm just wondering if anyone had had issues with Orphek and what that issue was?

Been running them now for over a year and love them.

My lfs has been selling these lately. I just bought 2 of the compacts myself. The light they put out is great lps and sps seems to love them. The one thing is that the app and the programming could use some work some of the people have been having trouble trying to set the program. Once you get them set tho I think they are real nice but for the price they should be easier to control.

The preset options are great tho my buddy has just been having problems trying to modify the schedule. not sure if it's his tablet or the program but there is something screwy going on.

For the record I don't have mine set up yet so this is just what I've seen on other peoples tanks.

I had timing issues at first but Ofir the owner of Orphek quickly found the issue.
there is a news release on the proper setup of ramp times.
I have the V2 compact over my 46.
love it and am a dedicated Orphek user never to look back :-)

Hi the 2.1 is a ton of light so be careful!
my light is 14" above the water line in my 22" tall 46g

@twilliard can you show me some pics of your setup? How high off waterline? I have an Atlantik 2.1 standard coming this week.
If you have any questions at all about this light I sure can point you in the right direction even down to the owner of Orphek

Great to know. The one I'm buying is less than a year old. I currently have an AI Hydra 52. I love the light but to get the PAR I need for SPS it has to be quite low and then it doesn't give me the spread I need.

50 Gallon. The guy I'm buying it from has it over his 50 and loves it and has had great success. He now wants to switch to T5's to do a tank comparison over a few years to see the difference. So he'll have on tank running an Atlantik and one running a T5.

Be cautious with that fixture over a 50.
download the app and learn how to use it before ramping it up.
if you need contacts please let me know before using the online contact form.

Thank you. I have Ofir's email, as well as Scott's. They have been a huge help so far. My neighbor has a PAR meter as well so I'll probably drag him over. I was told the coral acclimation mode is quite helpful.

Do you have james email? He is the international rep and author of many articles

You bet! Nothing against Scott at all but James is the better connection
