Any vodka users still?

It didn't affect my Ph. Its a 285g total system. It was very minimal if at all.

I have a 65gal tank I've never vodka dosed before and don't really know anything about it. I have some Zoe's and soft corals as well as some lps. Any advice??

I am 14 days in today I will post day by day results up to today here in a bit. I check everyday with a Hanna checker. I strated with with .45  so everyone can watch how this works as of today I am at .35 and tomorrow my dose steps up again.

.35mls?? You have a long way to go. Very long way to go.

I have been dosing for around 3 months. Finally at the 14 ml per day mark this week I saw a large reduction in nitrates. From the 40 to 80 range down to around 10 now. My tank is around 10 months old and I have a pretty small bio load so I am not exactly sure why my nitrates were so high. I think it might have to do with the ancient dead reef rock that I used in the tank. I think it might be taking a long time to mature vs live rock. I was doing large water changes and not getting results so I tried vodka and finally seeing my numbers come down.

Here is my board, nothing fancy but as you can see it was crazy high. This shows how vodka is working. The days are on the left po4 on the right. I check everyday with the Hannah. Follow me to zero, I will keep updating. I am seeing clearer water and sand is getting whiter and whiter from being dog poo brown. The little hair alagee I did have is already disappearing. Just a side note I do a 10gal w/c weekly. System gal is roughly 50gal usd.

Holding steady around .25 two more days and I bump up .5 again. Really making progress now! :-)

Just an update, I started right after my last post, so I'm almost 2 weeks into it. I am up to 1.7ml/day. Nothing to report. I will keep everyone posted as well. Quick question, I've noticed people are also dosing MB7 in addition to vodka. What is the purpose and how does it help? Should I wait to start that once my trates start to drop or should I start now? Thanks.

The addition of MB7 is supposed to help keep the Red Slime from coming up, and it also helps in the process. I've never used this, and its not a must. If you were to do it, you should do it while dosing the vodka.

*UPDATE*

So after 4 months of using vodka, my nitrates are ZERO using a sailfert test kit. This is a small miracle considering my nitrates
were hovering between 40 and 80 before this. I have to also add I added some chaeto 3 weeks ago that is growing pretty
well so that might be taking up any nitrates the vodka isn't taking care of. My tank is around 10 months old and I used
dry ancient reef rock from Florida. I think it has taken a long time to this rock mature to the point of being able to process
nitrates efficiently. This is just a guess on my part because I have a very small bio load that even large water changes
were not having an effect on. I am now dosing 5ml morning and night (10 total) down from 14 ml a day at peak. (this is in a system of about
85 gallons.) I had put around 15 frags in at the beginning and needless to say most of them suffered greatly through the nitrate spike.
I have a few new frags I am ready to put in, and I will see how they are after a couple months.

Still Vodka 5ml, Vinegar 2ml, and Sugar 2ml dose daily in 4 sessions for 4yrs healthy tank and thriving.

What do u guys use to measure your doses? Its .1ml per 25 gal. To start right?
Use a child's medication syringe. That's has mls dose right on it.
Yes, if your going by the instructions written, you start at .1ml

The Cyano is hit and miss in the system. Some will get it some won't. Usually will see it when dosing a bit higher.
