So am i the only one who drives about a half hour to my lfs? Not because its the only one by me,but because its just the best one to go to!
I have about 3-4 stores in between me and my preferred lfs but i drive right past them every time.
Anyone else go the extra mile for quality service and fish? if so why?

Dang sorry man. I have always had a store close. 10 min for me to get to at least 2 of them. But 30min is no too bad considering.

I have 3 different stores I go to.
The closest is a hour and the other 2 are a hour and 15 minutes to a hour and a half each way.
 
In Sacramento we are fortunate to have several good stores. Each one has its strengths and weaknesses. My kids love to do a circuit on Sundays where we go store to store and see what they got.

My favorite is about the second closest. I buy 90% there based on their service. The other 10% comes from the Sunday circuits if something can't be passed up or that random plumbing part that my favorite does not have the minute I'm looking for it.
 
I have to go 30min to my closest store as well, but I live in the middle of nowhere in Maryland so that's basically the norm (15min to grocery store). Another store is about an hour away, I've only been once but thinking of going this weekend.

So yeah, 30min LFS, 1hour LFS...I wish I had a neighborhood fish store but that probably wouldn't be feasible!

Mine is about a forty minute drive. There are a couple closer to me but I wouldn't buy anything from them ever again unless it's a dire emergency.
 
I have an amazing coral shop about 2 miles from my house that I visit when I have an itch but for fish I have to drive about 30 minutes.

thats basically how mine works i rarely go to the ones close to me because there stock is usually lackluster and looks like and ich-festation waiting to happen! but there are those gems that do appear rarely!
but i think its awesome that people are willing to literally go the extra mile for quality!

anyone in Fl (west palm) area have a store they reccomend!?

Northern Virginia...my closest is 30 minutes..but Dr. macs is about a 3.5 hour drive :)
I have 5 really good LFS within a 3hr round trip from me...so I usually make a day of it with another local reefer,lol
Being that I can't convince my husband to spend a day of fish and coral shopping,lol
