Im going to be installing a 48" 8 bulb hybrid and dont seem to see much reviews on them. Anyone on here have one? Thing is so heavy I worry about it pulling the rails off the wall. Lol

Already have brackets mounted into studs from a previous t5 fixture. Not ideal because the mounts are into the fixture instead of being able to slide. May look funny but it will have to do.

Mointed them on new brackets, gotta take the old ones down. Since this fixture is overkill for this tank i raised it up to 16 1/2" above water line. Today is first day so i ran leds only at 10% probably go 30% with them tonight since i got to see that 10% was very dim. What do yall run them at? Stuff i read says its best to keep them low on this fixture.

Good to know. I was following a very long thread on another forum and alot of people reported issues after around 6 months of use. Sure hope the issues are resolved.

Just got one. Love it so far. 24"
4 bulb on a 30 gallon JBJ RL about 10" off the water. 100% on the T5s (2 B+ and 2 C+) and about 50% on the LEDs in Blue+ mode. Corals, including SPS, LPS and softies, are all very happy...

Sent pm. But i remember some of the issues. One that seemed to happen to several of the folks that was involved in the year long thread reported that their units would turn off and back on randomly through the day. I will have to dig through it to see what else there was.

I have the 48" Hybrid. I love the light, has lots of power and it's beautiful! However the fixture is not perfect.
Most people I've talked to actually turn off the LEDs while their T5's are in use, with the LEDs being in the center of the fixture, it tends to create hot-spots that throw down too much PAR.
Another issue I have is that after a power outage it won't keep time, it resets to 00:00. Hard to believe a $2k fixture has this problem. The acrylic shield has a poor fit, when I slide it into the bracket, one side will pop out and it becomes hopelessly lodged in place. Therefore sliding in the shield after swapping out bulbs because a delicate act to ensure it fits properly.
The flaws are relatively minor, performance wise it is a beast, but honestly I think I would be happier with an ATI Powermodule with Reefbrites on the sides. Wouldn't be as pretty, that's for sure, but I think it would be more functional.
I would definitely recommend the fixtures to others but did want to mention these issue's I've found. The fixture I have was brand new in a recent shipment from Germany.

Yes what was stated above was part of what i read. Many folks said they was happier with a powermodule and reefbrites. Im lrobably only going to run the leds 30%-50%. I also read that supposedly the newer models had fixed the issues of powering off randomly. Also my clusters are the single cluster. I believe these are the newer one? And the clusters with 2 rows are the old... Also im not trying to bash the light in any way, so far I love it!
