I did this tiny baby Purple Tang in just glass bowls, and kept him moving every 2 days to stay ahead of the Ich and ammonia. Hadn’t heard about the schedule for Velvet, I must say. Sounds interesting. (Note: 3 glass bowls so one is always drying out from sterilization, ready to be used next in sequence. Different brand new air stone and piece of tubing used at each transfer— it’s cheap! The Tang is now full grown, living in my DT.)
what is the temp is the jars?

Meh, I prefer the bayite and a fixed heater. I bought a cheap heater for my qt...it exploded.
I get that, I don't recommend a cheap heaters either. I haven't had any mishaps, but I've read enough horror stories. I thought the bayite only did one heater and one cooling outlet, but I might be wrong. I love the Inkbird for my DT since you can have two heaters plugged into one (in case one heater dies completely).

The Bayite is only one heater and one cooler. If you want to run more than one heater you're stuck using a splitter cable or power strip.

I bought two, they are super cheap. They out last the heaters and have very fine grain control so when a heater starts to go just swap it out. The temp probe is also replaceable.

I've been thinking about trying one, I just ordered one from Amazon and am going to tinker with it.
