i wouldnt worry to much about the red stuff, some appeared on my lr with zoas growing like crazy! i tried to remove it and gave up, it has no ill effect on the colony so far.
the red has come up since my clowns started living in it.

I change my vote to zoas and not GSP. Looking closely it appears to have white dots on them, maybe try and do a furan 2 treatment if that’s the case. Possible zoa pox.

OK I will look up the furan 2 treatment method!

I don't see any zoa pox. Today a few of the polyps opened and guess what.... GSP

yep gsp,,give that man a prize,,time for me to get those glasses..
atleast your getting signs of life out of this colony

Signs of life are good. I was hoping it was all ZOAS but I guess I can't be too picky. Without doing too much research, will the GSP take over the few zoa colonies I have on the rock, or are they safe?

odds will have it,,,GSP will over run pretty much most corals,,including your zoas..
keep this gsp coral on a rock all BY ITSELF and not close to any other rock work ,or it will spread to areas you will not like

Typically you can peel off sections of GSP. My wife does that time to time with ours growing on the overflow. Cut the area with a sharp exacto knife, carefully, then peel back sections.
