From your apex lcd screen, hit the center button. Select system. Next select Net Setup. You will likely see "DHCP On". Press the middle button to turn off. This will force your apex to try and connect with whatever it's current address is everytime.
Next scroll down to IP addess. You'll see a number like 192.168.0.11 (yours will be slightly different). Write this number down. That's the easy part. The next part is wholly dependant on the model of router you have. You need to log into the router and tell it to assign that ip address a static lease.
A Web search of your router model should find instructions of how to do that. If you can't find what you need to do that, or get stuck, pm me, and I'll see if I can walk you through it.
