Apex not connecting after power outtage...Help!?

I had the same happen to me. Just held down the reset button on the apex and all was good again.

Do you know of a way/setting that can prevent this from happening again? I have seen many posts on changing IP address, but I have no idea where to even begin.

I'd start by setting your apex to static IP, outside your DHCP range.

That's how I've been running for nearly a decade. Get an aux P/S and battery backup just for the apex, plug a small powerhead to it too.

I eliminate WiFi connectivity issues by hard wiring it via ethernet.

Yes I agree. I have had two other outages prior to today, and the Apex has reset and reconnected on its own. It did not reconnect today, obviously, but it did continue to run all equipment as it was programmed. I am not super savvy when it comes to computers or networking, so I have no idea why it figured itself out the first two times and not this time. I would like to see a way/setting, to prevent this from happening again as I travel and am not always able manually reset the Apex.

At least it was running the program as set.

I did buy an ethernet cable today, long enough to reach to my router...Just incase I was unable to get the Apex back on WIFI. When having the Apex hard wired, are you still able to control remotely from a phone? and are there additional settings when running and ethernet, or just plug into the apex and then router and done?

When its hard wired you can use the Fusion web page to control your apex or the app on a phone.
It will still get the IP address from the router, if you still have it set to DHCP(default).

So can I just plug and play the ethernet, or are there additional steps I must take when hard wiring? (other than making sure its set to DHCP)

We had a power outage today, and since, my apex will not reconnect to fusion. I have tried resetting my router and apex multiple times to no avail! I have read a few posts on the fusion forum, but not to familiar with IP addresses etc.. we have had power outages before, and the apex went right back into normal function. Has any one else had this issue before or knows how to fix?? Thanks for the help!

Here's if power goes utility co. has a form to fill if any electronics effected. Get some or 100% reimbursement. Hope all goes well.

Setting static IP addresses will vary depending on router. Can be set regardless if Wifi or wired. Some routers allow you to keep the ip leased for ever so it is never reused. So you have a lot of options.

If you go the route of a battery back up just remember you have to do the same for every piece of network gear so it maintains continuity / power. So cable modem, router, switch, apex, etc. Draw a diagram and map it - connect the dots and make sure they are powered.

What I'm saying is that static is an option as is battery backup. Once that is all set make sure you enable heartbeat in Apex so Fusion will ping / text you if network is out (network, power). Edit: Best feature the Apex offers with regards to heartbeat - so use it.
