berghia nudibranches.
anyone know who sells them?
I bought some peppermint shrimp but I still have around 5 apitasia at any one time.
I was reading these little guys would do a job on them and get rid of the problem.
anyone ever tried this and have some extras to sell or
know a good place to buy some berghia's.

in the upgrade I lost my branching coral and my pocipora seems to have gone white except the polyps at the top.

I have used them, my tank was infested and the Berghia did a good job of ridding it of them. The only problem in my case is that the Berghia have died and I now have the Aptasia making a come back. Peps will work but you need to hold off feeding while they do there job. If they have food available they won't eat the Apps.

Keep me posted on where to get the nudis. I have some aptasia to get rid of. I have tried Pep but I have a coral banded shrimp that eats them.

yes copperbands work as well as peppermint shrimp. the peppermints only eat the small ones so you have to use aiptasia rx from blue vet to get rid of the larger ones. and as posted above lighten up on the feedings for a bit

thanks

thanks for the help guys.
I wanted another fish so I guess I will take the chance on a Copperbanded butterfly.

How much do they nibble at corals? I guess that is why they eat the apitasia.

I have some favias, finger leather, candy canes, two patches of zoas, pocillipora, hydnophoba, mushrooms and a BTA for my clowns.

I know I slaugheterd the spelling of the corals but I hope I got close enough :(

i would not use a CBB i have done it and they will kill your favias candycane and then go for any thing that is left i have tryed this 2 time's and they will eat apitasia but they eat every thing as well

there is an aiptasia eating filefish, dfs has them in often recently
not the prettiest of fish but they get the job done

I used the matted filefish in conjunction with a cbb. The berghia didn't work for me. The peps didn't work for me. Lemon juice/kalk/aiptasiax x/joe's juice, etc didn't work for me. The filefish mowed through my aiptasia in two different tanks. The cbb got to the ones deeper in the rockwork in my big tank that the filefish couldn't reash with his short snout. My filefish is currently on loan to a fellow reefer. Beware that they will likely go after lps after the aiptasia are gone. Mine certainly did this. He wouldn't touch any of them until every aiptasia was gone. The aiptasia was definitely his food of choice.

Yours will get to you this tuesday or wednesday

Be careful with Berghias if you already have peps. The peps stand a good chance of eating your little $10 Berghias.

CBB has never been a problem for me. I have a nice sized one, doesn't touch my favias and eat any aiptasia. Just keep em fed and happy.

Very 1st one you can see it goo up. Sorry for the blurry vid, I was doing the zapping. Hardest part for me is that I am looking almost 30" down, through a 4" plexi box and wear glasses. Hard to see them with the depth of field. I need a spotter.

Berghia's and peppermint's will not go after Majano's . Those are the bigger type of aiptasia. I had a copperband bf clean the tank for me once . After the aiptasia were gone he went after the feather dusters .Never saw it bother any other corals . I removed him sold him to a friend in fear it would die from starvation .FTW I just use rs aiptaisa x when I see one . Nifty toy Mufman
