Aptasia eating filefish

I have a aptasia eating filefish that I have decided to make a club fish I will own the fish just loan it to who ever needs to get rid of aptasia you must be a club member to borrow the fish if you are not a member you will have to buy the fish

Keith how did it do with your corals? I need a solution to my aptasia infestation and this might be it or maybe a cbb. Pep and nudi were fail

What's the minimum tank size they need? I'm getting some on a rock that no amount of lemon juice seems to kill.

After all the aptasia are gone it will nip at zoas and polyps

I'm not sure I do not think tank size will matter since you will not have it just long enough for it to eat them

Mine has never nipped at anything that I know of. He will eat EVERYTHING I put in the tank though (as far as food). He is a really cool fish and I never have any aptasia.

I have never seen that one pick at thinks I'm just saying that so no one will say it eat a high dollar coral and think I will replace the coral

That's good to hear Greg ... how long did it take the filefish to adjust and get comfortable in your tank? I just bought the last one at Emerald Bay East last night. So it's still hiding in one corner.

I have a 'few aptasia ' here and there so if it's smart enough to find them this will be awesome ... I am secretly hoping that it will also eat my yellow polyps that have taking over one whole side of my tank (won't hold my breath though but read that they might).

If this new filefish I bought does a good job getting rid of the aptasia I will add it to the club 'fish pool' as well.

Its still a skittest fish when im up close to the tank, but while im on the couch it cruises around in sthealth mode looking for them. I seriously have 100s of aptasias in my tank and i notice some were gone after one day. Its now been nearly a week and it has put a noticable dent in the aptasia population.
