@Anirban
today's readings :)
24 hours ago: Ca 460 Alk 8.16 Mag 1470
roughly 12 hours ago: Ca 455 Alk 8.16 Mag 1485
today: Cal 455 Alk 8.32 Mag 1455
my ph sure drops without any alkalinity being dosed. the average daily swing used to be 8-8.25 and is now 7.9-8.
Whats the reading for today????

that was the reading for the day lol.
i was doing 2 tests a day but lately the measurements have been very constant so i backed off to just once a day at a time i would normally test my water.
Not to worry though, i'll be doing todays tests in the next hour.

I hope you did not drop anything yesterday in the tank...Lol I think currently I am correcting parameters for too many tanks so got a bit confused. ...:D

yes i noticed your job is getting a little busier :) that is why i tag you and give you the change over 24 hours. it keeps it manageable for you and keeps it organized for me.
yesterday i only dosed the np pro and pro bio s and only at half strength.
i'll take my measurements now and get back to you soon here.

@Anirban today there was a little more movement...
24 hours ago: Ca 455 Alk 8.32 Mag 1455
today: Ca 450 Alk 8.8 Mag 1440
my ph is down again today with a high of 8.05 and low of 7.75 which is the lowest it's been in 6 months. also, is my Alkalinity climbing because it's finding balance?

Whats your NO3 and PO4 now?

I skimmed through this and it gave me way too many questions. I looked on the AF site and they have 432 different things to dose! Holy cow.
I was thinking about the components 123 instead of the 2 part I am used to but now I am more confused. :(

Lol....yeah at first it looks like that but in reality its not like that.If you want we can help but we will need your system details and your goal and some other things.;)

Whats your NO3 and PO4 now?
my nitrates are sitting at .25ppm.
phosphate was unusually high at .13ppm but i have been feeding more lately and they usually hover around .05ppm. i still haven't found a balance with feeding but am getting closer.

Not sure what info you need. I upgraded from a 60 AIO to a 125. I have a mixed reef.
To start with every parameter of your tank. total water volume, Ca, Mg, Alk, No3, Po4, pH, Temp, light schedule, current 2 parts consumption rate, number of fishes, what you feed, how you control nutrients etc.

So here is the funny thing, I faced the same problem when I started using the pro bio S and NP pro. Whenever you see a little decrease in your NO3 level you Alk jumps a bit. Randy helped me to understand this process which I will explain to you when we do the calculation. But for the time being no dosing. Just let it sit there.;)

Great. How you want the system to be run? Like ultra low nutrient system or normal with a bit of nutrient. Do you want to follow the full product line or you have some selective choices?

I am a believer of some nutrient in the system. I am a veteran reefer but I am clueless about this system. What are your suggestions?

Lets start from basic. AF is based on two different aspect of reef keeping. First, use of probiotics to maintain a low nutrient environment and supplement controlled nutrient to feed corals and control their growth and colour pattern etc. Second, a complete balling solution for supplementing all elements together to maintain a balanced chemical environment for growth and colour. So, all the dosing are targeted to do that.

good morning @Anirban
interestingly my levels all are marginally up today.
24 hours ago: Ca 450 Alk 8.8 Mag 1440
current levels: Ca 455 Alk 9.12 Mag 1470
You started using the Pro bio S and NP pro right. It will be like that for sometime. You added a extra parameter so others will get affected by it. Let it sit . Also it will be a good idea to do a 10% water change tomorrow or Monday.

good day @Anirban
today is 10% water change day so i took the last measurement before seeing the changes it brings.
24 hours ago: Ca 455 Alk 9.12 Mag 1470
today: Ca 460 Alk 8.16 Mag 1470
i would guess the alkalinity is actually more in line with what it would have probably been had we not added the np pro and pro bio.

Lets do the water change and see. I am just wondering how without any dosing your Ca and Mg stayed same but Alk came down 1dkH.
