Welcome!

Good stuff.

I exchanged a bunch of pms with Perry last month before getting started myself. Answered all my questions and provided some extra tips as well.

Transitioning to aquaforest as I use up my two part supplies. My local LFS stocks Aquaforest products, recommends, and uses in store livestock display tanks. I have been using coral V and AF amino 10 drops each every day for about 2 months. I have a mixed reef 225 gallon display 55 gallon sump. I use a skimmer and high capacity GFO in a reactor. Nitrates are almost always zero and Phosphate .08 last week.

Today I tested magnesium and got 900 ppm., Alk was 8.9 and Cal 400.

As I use up my Brightwell calcium and Alk products and Reef crystal salt supplies, how would you recommend I adjust my magnesium and calcium levels?

I have read the guide but still have some lingering questions specific to my situation:

I'm currently running SPS dominated and already ULNS with undetectable N03/P04. My system uses a skimmer and chaeto with Seachem Reef Fusion 1/2 (2 part) dosed via dosers.

1) If I opt to use the reef salt instead of the probiotic salt, what other product(s) do I need?

2) If I continue to use reef fusion until it's gone (I have a lot), what products should I use until I can switch to the 1+2+3+?

3) My current 2 part has some trace in it, so is there a concern of dosing too much trace if I add AF products?

To my understanding, the probiotic line is aimed at reducing nutrients so I'm assuming I do not need that until my nutrient levels start to rise.

I am not tech support just a hobbiest;) but want to get you an answer.

When I was using of my products before the total switch over to AF I would dose Randy's 2 Part Mg and Ca with my water changes. After a month I just switched over and gave away all of my non AF product for the reason I was simpler to dose the 1+2+3+ and move forward. :)

Again I am not tech support, saw this the other day and want to get you an answer

1) I run Reef salt, 1+2+3+, Np Pro, Pro Bio S, Phosphate minus. I also run bio pellets in a small reactor. I feed heavy

2 and 3 are for @Perry

If you would like to use all AF products then I would suggest you buy the AF Magnesium and mix up using RODI. Then use that to raise your magnesium. You will use a ton of magnesium to raise your levels to where they should be (upwards 1300+) with a tank of your size so this is why I recommend buying the powder and mixing your own. For calcium it doesn't take nearly as much media to raise the levels so you could purchase the Ca Plus which is a liquid form already. It is highly recommended that you get your levels up to desired levels and then begin the 123+ when your two part runs out.

I also think you might be dosing more Coral A and V than you really need. 1 drop per 27 gal of water. Your tank and sump probably doesn't have 270 gal of water in them. Your rock and sand, and equipment in the sump displace a lot of water. I bet you could probably get away with dosing something closer to 6-8 drops. Products will last longer and save you a little money. :)

Got the MG plus and CA plus AF additives. Using 150 ml of each daily to bring magnesium up to 1300 and calcium to 440. Just finished my second dose.
Decreased my A an V to 8 drops now on alternating days like eg8 suggested
Started Probio S and NP Pro 8 drops each in the morning into sump after skimmer

Going to wait a couple days to check parameters.

On my way to the Aquaforest Pandora
PS: heard that Perry in this thread used to work at my LFS. Pretty sure we have met there before.

Can't wait to see how your tank responds. Quick question, how much did you mag and calcium move up with a 150 ml dose? Did the mag hardly budge? It usually takes tons of mag to raise it.

In the guide it shows only to use it with the probiotics.
"Use it with probiotics" can you please explain this? I think Pro bio S and NP Pro are the probiotics.

The "probiotic program" that aquaforest has is the only place I see to use np pro and pro bio s, the one with high demand sps. Under their lps and sps program I doesn't have it listed to use it, just the reef salt, components 123 and the additives amino mix, build, energy and t he other one I can't think of.
