Interested in aquaforest, are you all using all their products or what? What are you using for such awesome corals?
I do not currently use many of their products, simply because I approach anything slowly and not all at one time.

I started with Reef Salt, liking their claimed parameters. It worked well for months and I then considered their Component 123+ system. I've been using that for about three weeks, and so far I am very pleased.

After another two weeks or so goes by, and everything remains as I've experienced, I'll most likely move on to other products and try them out for a time. If it goes well... Rinse and repeat. [emoji1]

I test often as I try out new things on the tank, so I have a better understanding of what's going on, etc. Though many others have found success going all in with AF, I'm just overly cautious. [emoji15]

Really depends on your tanks needs. Sps , lps, mixed . Aquaforest has a manual and tells you what you will need. I have a full sps, so i use probiotic salt, nppro, probios, coral a,b,e,v balling 3 part. Also micro e khalium, and stronium but you dont need these 3 really since i use their balling.

What's the difference between AF component 1,2,3 and the "coral a,b,e and v"?
Right now I'm dosing reef grow cal mag alk, could I switch to the AF 3 part?
I only have a 14 gal Biocube that's sps dominant, I dose about 1-2ml per day of reef grow parts 1-3. Is that comparable to the AF, it says roughly 50ml per 27 gal, so I would essentially be dosing half of that with the AF? Sorry for the long message I can post in a new thread if you'd like.

Component 1 2 3 are mineral supplement like cal, alk , Mg, iron, potassium and lot other elements but A(amino acid) B(build mostly alk and some other stuffs) E (energy food) and V(Vitamin). So they are different.
You can start dosing these but first change to their salt and probiotics and if over time you need to dose then start dosing 1 2 3 . The dose generally will be lesser than recommended and you need to figure out what dosage keeps your parameters steady.

So do I start with the reef salt or go straight to the probiotic reef salt? Sorry for being such a novice. I've never used AF products

If your system is SPS heavy then you may use their probiotic salt or else you can use reef salt and supplement with Pro Bio S and NP Pro. Some people dont like amino acid and vitamins in their salt so they use reef salt and add them separately depending upon need.

Good to know. I'm following this thread as are so many others and I, too, and starting with AF Reef Salt. I like to go one step at a time. Can't deny the great results people are getting! Thanks again.

Get the reef salt, BioS, Pro bio S, NP pro, E and B. Then depending upon need get amino and vitamin and once established you can start dosing component 1+2+3+.

I'm also new and want to be using AF products. But not before I know what I'm doing and why I'm doing it. Just wanted to know couldnt us new users just switch over to either A,B,C or 1,2,3? Which are the same thing if I'm write to say? One is used with a doser & the other is a premix you measure and add depending on water quantity. What are the reason for use of bio s, bio pro s, np pro, E,B before you start using their componants. Sorry if this has been answered but I can't alway read all replies.

No, the only thing I dose is Ca Alk Mag

What are your specs for your tank? To start I would either consider Bio S and NP Pro (Starter bacteria and medium to feed it), and start with Reef Salt. I play super safe and slow, and that approach is definitely safe and slow. You can observe for a couple weeks, and based from what you see, you could eventually move on to Pro Bio S and NP Pro, and eventually move on to Probiotic salt, should you feel the need for it. After that stage in the reef game, you could consider their other supplements like A, B, V, E.

In no particular order, though I would recommend not combining this at the same time while doing the above, you could consider using their Component 123+ system to replace your two part.

If you could check out my thread, that lists all my specs and params My rimless 14g Biocube reef recovery

1 month in with the Probiotics, this salt had been a game changer. Colors have gone from great to amazing in 1 month.

I believe I responded to this before but maybe in another thread. No ABC and 123 are NOT the same thing.

123 includes Ca, Alk, Mag, everything in ABC, plus potassium and mineral salts. ABC is recommend for use with a CaRx. If you manually dose two part, or balling then don't use ABC, use 123+.
