I have a mixed reef nano tank (13gal) and im using pure AF products.

My params are as follow:

Nitrate- 25ppm (Salifert Test kit)
Phosphate - says Zero but im sure there is because of brown algae growing on my rocks and glass (Salifert Test kit)
Calcium - around 405 - 420
Alk - 8.2 - 8.7 (AF test kit)
Mag - 1350 (AF test kit)
Salinity - 35 PPM (AF test kit)

Dosing:

AF Amino Mix, Vitality, Energy, Build, Iodum
AF - Np pro, Pro Bio S, Pro Bio F - doing alternately
AF Ricco food, AF Power food - dose weekly

Medias:

AF Carbon, Phosphate Minus, Life Biofil, and just newly installed the Zeo mix 4 days ago (all medias are in a media bags).


My questions are:

1. How to lower down Nitrates? I've been running this system for a month and getting a consistent 25PPM reading (daliy testing).
2. Is it an overkill that I added the Zeo mix in my system? My purpose is to lower down my Nitrates.

Its fine if you add Zeo to reduce NO3. It will take at least 3-4 month before it will come down. Once its down it will stay low but till then you have to wait. Your plan is fine.
