Not much help in your case, but the DOC series in sump skimmers are definitely underrated and get zero attention because BRS doesn’t carry them. The 9430 is an absolute monster. The rating system is goofy though

First how would you know that/ Do you have any data to support that Claim. Second spoke to roger Twice not much H elp in my situation. I have 35 years keeping reef and marine tanks so I KNOW what works and What does NOT. IMO the skimmers are overrated and overpriced, Not acrylic made. Seems like plastic for what you get for the Money, You experience might be different, Good luck

Data lol. Search all the forums. You can go waaaay back. Very few problems don't get resolved, and most of them are user error. I appreciate that you have 35 years of experience, but clearly your expertise is not in foam fractionation because the 9012 is a beast. I'm pretty sure Roger uses one his own tank. I'm not sure why yours didn't work, it's a statistical anomaly, that's why I chalked it up to user error.

Go ahead and get two sea clones from PetSmart. No bells and whistles, and idc what anyone says, the new models work just fine. They will fit the rim.

HaHa Good for you. Lifereef is skimming so Meh Tunze is NOT worth it in My opinion, German Products eheim and aquamedic Great products with GERAT trac records. Two Not one 9012 did not skim so I will stick with Lifereef and Eheim, Thanks
