Was just wondering where the anti-buy American bias comes from. Besides wanting to support American employees where possible, i can afford it, and I in no way hold it against anyone who doesn't share my perspective or cant afford it. As far as socialism, my knowledge isn’t just book learned having family that grew up in Cuba. Does your company that you co-founded rely on or is based on imported products? I just didn’t understand how someone’s choice to buy American first would be seen as “wrong” unless it conflicts with political or social ideals, or it hurts the pocketbook. Either way, its not wrong.

I don't have a bias. You buy what you want. I've said that. What I said is that the "buy American" mentality does not produce more American jobs than global trade nor does it deliver better economic output.

Yes, it supports the jobs of those making those products here but does not make the country better off as a whole. It doesn't mean we shouldn't manufacture here or buy American made goods. That's the beautiful thing about capitalism. Buy whatever you want for whatever reason you like. Simple.

Cuba is not a socialist but a communist country. The two are not the same. I grew up in a communist country and know far too well how flawed that system is and why it doesn't work. Germany is a socialist republic, for example. These are completely different systems of government.

Communisim is a plotical system, and Socialism is an economic system , but im happy to say you are right about everything, because you seem like “that guy”.

Actually, both are political and economic systems. The difference between the two was never fully defined by Marx, which has lead to lasting confusion. Socialism is supposed to be the stage between capitalism and communism. I’m still not sure that any country has 100% achieved communism, though we think of Cuba as such. But while the political system remains, recent economic changes in Cuba are leading it to try aspects of a market economy.
