Aquatic life hybrid t5 question

Thankfully I read this before setting up my fixture and I just peeled them off before putting the bulbs in there. Thanks for the heads up!

Hope its OK to jump in here. If the lamps are still operating and warm, could I ask you to try and pry the clip from the lamp before removing.

Its been stressful to understand what is causing this and any input/help is much appreciated.

I've been running this fixture in 48" size for exactly 5 months now. Haven't touched the ATI bulbs since installation; run them 6 hours a day. Hadn't heard about this issue until just now. so I went and looked, and carefully pried at each of the 8 plastic coated clips. Sure enough, all of them were adhering to the bulbs to one degree or another, but not so much that careful graded pressure didn't eventually get each one to let go, without damage.

When I installed the fixture, I remember thinking how tightly these clips held the bulbs; you really had to insert the bulbs pretty forcefully. I bet that the combination of pressure and heat must have caused the plastic coating on these clips to melt slightly and form a new bond to the glass of the bulbs.

However now the plastic is older, and I've also bent each clip back a bit so it's not holding the bulb so tightly. I suspect the problem will not recur; we'll see how it looks at the scheduled bulb change 1 month from now.

I am having the same problem. Got 1 bulb out and the other 3 are melted in, have tried heating them up and everything. Thise bulbs have been in there for 8 months now. Really bad design on the clips, they should have been just a thinner stainless with no plastic on it.

Shoot us your address and we'll send you a replacement set of clips. [email protected]. We're sorry about the issue.
