AquaticLife Smart Buddie Booster Pump vs Others ?

I need to buy a booster pump for our RO/DI system from BRS. Is the Buddy worth the extra price versus other basic pumps ?

If you have one, what's the pros and con's etc. ?

I can’t give you an opinion on any others, but I am using the AL smart buddy pump with great results.

I mean it does what it says. It auto flushes the membrane, and raises my psi to about 105 (from 42). No cons to thinks of....

I have one also works fine, looks ridiculous with six hoses coming out of it but works fine

Dont have any experience with the buddy but I use the aquatec and works great. I was getting something like 42 on my brs 150gpd water saver unit and with the aquatec I get 82 psi and way better production

Ok I agree, all the tubing does look like overkill. but I think it’s worth it for the automatic auto flushing.

It needs all the hoses to provide the auto flush feature

@DangerDave maybe you can fill this part in for me as I don't own one myself but how does it "Flush" the membrane? Does it just bypass the flow restrictor for the 18 seconds? Or does it also let the membrane start producing but direct the first 18 seconds of product down the drain as well?

I love my RO buddie it works great and I get over 100gpd now with the 100gpd membrane.

I have one.

Positives: It works very well and includes the automatic membrane flush feature. Pressure is now consistent no matter how much water is being used elsewhere. Faster production of RO/DI water. Shuts itself off when it senses back pressure. Pretty quiet (I hear the water dripping into the container over the pump).

Potential negative: It is large and has all the different colored lines coming in and out. Definitely need to plan for the space this big boy will use.

Well, I finally picked a pump, the AquaticLife Buddy, on Amazon. $119.
I hope,...my new buddy (sorry, just had to) won't let me down and become a X- buddy.
Can't wait to hook it up to my whole house filter, water softner and five stage BRS system.
