I’m jw I used kessil a360 for 5 years now the fan broke and they are offering the new one I think it’s a360x or something ..,,.are these lights the top of the game ? I wanna get the best reef Lights possible any thoughts ?

I read mixed reviews on this brand and the new one is a bit pricy so if there’s another light that’s better I rather go with that if I’m spending 400 bucks either way

With any light, there's going to be people who like them and people who don't.
If you've been happy with the previous A360 for the past 5 years I see no reason you won't also enjoy the A360X.
It'll also make the transition from the old light to the new light a lot easier since they'll have fairly comparable coverages and outputs, where moving to another brand could be a longer acclimation period and need more new/different hardware.

I have an A360X refugium light and it's a very well made unit
I'd be interested in your broken one too actually.

It’s just the fan that stopped working I tried taking it apart but no luck ....but in the past I could never grow sps or aneonme and my tank was almost. 6 years old so I wonder if the kessil light had anything to do with it

For the tank size you have, there's plenty of lights that should work fine for you. Current generation Kessil A360X, Radion XR15's, Hydra's ..... really any one of the 100w fixture sets should be a good match for a 36 bow front tank.

Ty I ordered the a360x! They gave me 20% off so I’ll try it out still cost over 300 bucks tho

Like I said, just let me know how much you want for the old one when the new light arrives.

I'm an electronics guy by trade so I may be able to fix/use it for my own tank to fill a couple shadowy spots.

I like the mh look it gives. Underpowered relative to some others. Prefer them over my ai prime. Will also say that they look way better if you like to run whiter lighting compared to other options. Really makes things shine like you’re looking into shallow sea water while snorkeling.

I put a 500x over a 34g tank. Ease of use , spectrum is built into the light, no fiddling around. Love the look. I’m using the small controller adapter that connects to the light. If you want to fiddle you can add UC, red, green, moonlight( which I did). Still the best IMO. Sold off a new g5 Pro and went in this direction. Glad I did!

It’s just the fan I’m sure you can get it to work it still works unless you turn it all the way up then it gets hot turns off Bc there’s no fan where do you live ?

I live in South Dakota, zip code 57106.

When you get a chance, no rush, just shoot me over a private message with how much you'd like for the light plus appropriate shipping and we can work out details.

Love that blue light never was a big fan of mh even tho I think they are better option for sps

I bought 5 of the 360X about 2 years ago. I really like the light, the size, the spread, and the fact that they shimmer like a MH, What I don't like is the fact that 2 have already stopped working and at $450 ea. I would think they should last longer.

That’s a lot of $ to put down and two stopped working. Did Kessil stand behind them?

No they only have a 1 year warranty and of course they made it past that, I am sending them in and will see what the repair cost is but I am thinking going a different route. These LED's are said to last 10000 hours but if the fixture fails it really does not matter how long the LED lasts.

Not sure I understand. You said you used a Kessil a360x for 5 years now. And now asking if they are at the top of their game.

Question back to you. Did you enjoy the light? Did it work for you? You should know the answer as you had one for 5 years...
