So i was saving money for a pair of quality lights and through all my research and videos decided to go with g5's, this was about a 8 months ago

They have literally been sitting in a cupboard waiting for the new build to be ready, although now i keep seeing radion g5-g6 issues,

Have ecotech resolved the issue that people are having ?

I feel like crap because you put your heart into something, then keep seeing negative feedback on it

What problems are you referring to? The cracked casing issue? That only affected the first batch and they replaced the casing free of charge

I would say there isn't another LED on market with a better track record than Radions. Especially the G5

Swapped to radions a few months back and they've been great for me. The app isn't particularly intuitive or user friendly in my opinion, but the hardware is top notch.

The only issue I’ve seen recently is the par output from the new G6s because of the wider spread. If anything people are preferring the G5s because of the PAR output

As already mentioned the only issue I saw with gen 5 XR30's were the cracked case. But ETM shipped out new cases for the people who wanted them.
I saw people saying the gen 6 XR15 wasn't up to snuff for a sps tank.

Only had issues with their mobius app. It's fixed now but a couple months ago, when their server goes down, nobody had access to any of the equipment connected to the app. They updated the app to allow offline connections. No issues since the update.

No problem at all with my G6 XR15 Blue. Has better light spread than previous gen, and is growing sps like crazy in my IM 25 Lagoon, 12 inch below surface par is 150 with only 45% schedule intensity AB+, and that spread is 20” radius on the bed.

No connection issue, as I gave my WIFI 5ghz a different SSID than the 2ghz that the app uses.

Please, please use the lights before you post something like this.

I have 2 XR30 G5s over my 90g. Growing acros like crazy and starting a second frag tank because of the overgrowth.

Switched to G5 xr30s about 6 months ago and my acropora have exploded. I was on Kessil and T5s prior. I’m 100% happy with the G5s. They are expensive and the mobius app is frustrating but those are the only real cons I have experienced. I have 4 xr30 over a 5’ tank and only run them at 50%. I get 400 par at the top and 200 at the bottom.

Really? These things will cook coral. How many do you have over what area?
2 XR15s over a 65g DT. 36x22x22. No they won't cook coral. I have them on standard 8 inch RMS mounts and 100% schedule intensity on the AB plus program using diffusers means barely 300 par a few inches below the water line.

I have an XR15 G5 Pro. The light fixture itself is fine, however, you need to use the Mobius software to actually use it....and the Mobius software is horrible. I spent three or four hours on TWO separate occasions trying to connect to my light, not to mention additional time reprogramming all the settings because my settings were wiped out.

Maybe the Mobius problems are resolved, maybe they aren't.......time will tell. I have already stated in another thread that I will take a hammer to it the next time I can't connect to it and replace it with something else from another manufacturer.

Im not impressed with radions for the price point. I've upgraded to Neptune Sky's. I'm in love with the sky's and would marry them if I could. Amazing differences in just about everything. Visual appearance, coral color and growth, eliminates shadowing, still allows shimmer which helps corals grow zooxanthellae.

Bought the Gen4pro right about the time it first came out (cannot recall exactly how long ….. so must be a long time). Terrific light and quite reliable …. Unlike the kessils I bought around the same time most of which have crapped out.

I am not looking forward to the time that they will need to be replaced … perhaps that will be a sign to depart the hobby. Mobius free for me.
