Not that i noticed so Im not entirely sure, but you definitely dont have to calibrate it for use

Your local fish store may have one available for rent. We did that here a week or so ago for $15/day. Worth checking.

How about a local reefing club? Ours lets members borrow the 2 PAR meters that the club owns. I realize not everyone has an active local club but it might be an option.

My local club is a bunch of political dorks who talk behind the ppls back who don't make that month's meeting. It's reaaaaally bad
