are these amphipods?

IME, amphipods are good for a tank. That last photo, however, is an isopod. The species shown in the photo is harmless and and good for your tank. There are some species that are parasitic to fish, but not the one shown.
 
Ive never heard of an amphipod “eat” coral. Are you sure it wasn’t something else?
I’m absolutely positive. My green star polyps had them and didn’t open up for a week. I also saw the amphipods actually eating the coral. I did a freshwater dip and nothing else came off.
 
Most amphipods never touch coral and help clean up your tank. I think @TheShrimpNibbler had an experience with an uncommon species that ate coral. I’ve only heard of this a few times, so it is very unlikely that these pods will hurt your tank.

This could be true. Mine were also massive. One was half an inch long.
