Honestly I believe dino x do not really work. I feel its reputation came from the fact that people confuse dino with almost everything now days.
Maybe it can treat one or 2 specific strains of dino(there are many) but not all...
I have had true dino that was properly identified by a marine biologist friend of mine. Dino x did not treat it..
So many of the common remedies did not.
Only one medication I imported from Germany that was built to treat dino and only dino really cleared my system ever since...
My 2 cents.

I hear you! I don’t have a microscope myself so I really don’t know what I had but it does look eerily similar to the OP’s.

I had that bottle for at least 3 months before even trying it on a whim. Just really happy it worked for me so I can’t complain lol.

Whatever died turned to a light dusting of red slime cyano

Right on. Ofcourse that's what matter at the end of the day.

I'm going to test with the coffee filter technique.

As far as the tank it's a long story. I upgraded to this tank in late April from a 45 gallo . It's a 90 gallon and 15 gallon sump.

70-80 pounds of mixed dry and live rock. Parameters are 0 am, phosphates, nitrite, and nitrate. Calc is ~380, alk 9, and mag 1180.

Running MH lights with T5 actinics. Currently 2 koralia 800Gph PH's and a jebao pp4 wave maker. Just received a max spect gyre to replace the koralias.

The algae is snot like, brown, with bubbles, primarily on the glass and PH's, but also on some roc . None on the sand.

No snail fatalities.

I think that is all

So here are the results from the napkin test, I dont have coffee filters at my house so I used 2 folded napkins.

The first is just after straining and the second is an hour later. 20190627_211350.jpg 20190627_221442.jpg

Ohashimz I believe I did but didnt have a coffee filter. I used two napkins folded in half and stacked on top of each other. I have tried chemiclean with no success 2 weeks ago.

Havent lost a single snail yet but only have 9 in the tan . I have seen snails running across this stuff regularly though.

Po4 is hanna test kit. No3 is api. System was setup week before Easter. Reused live rock after soaking in hypersaline solution for 45 minutes to make sure no pests transferred. Had to use bacteria due to accidentally killing my bio filter.
