Just wondering if these palys are one of the very poisonous kind. One of my first corals and wondering if I should get them out.

Your best bet is to assume all zoas/palys contain palytoxin. Even if they do that isn't a reason to remove them IMO. Actually if they do leaving them in the tank is the safest option...assuming they don't multiply to where you want to remove large amounts of them.

Even if some random hobbyist who you don't know their experience told you they aren't toxic you still need to treat them as though they are.
I do agree with above though, it's usually the less colorful ones that are more likely toxic.

If those are the drab green ones they're going to spread like dandelions. I have tons of those I keep ripping out.
They are the green ones. I had 3 now probably 20. Afraid of them taking over the whole rock and bothering my torch that is above them

I've ended up in the ER with paly toxin. Just be careful.
Mind me asking how? Most of the stories I've heard are from people doing something stupid like boiling the rocks. I've always been curious how cautious hobbyists need to be. Would yours have been avoided by something basic like goggles or gloves?

Just wear gloves.

They will if you let them... mine smother everything around them. I even have the things growing on the frag racks. I just keep ripping them out here and there.

I used aptasia x or F aptasia to kill them. But I only kill 2 or 3 at a time

I use a scalpel and tweezers. Only because if I use the blowtorch or rocket launcher there will be collateral damage.

Poisonous?

I got sick from them TWICE in the last 10 yrs. Not a hospital trip but felt like the serious flu for a few days

These aren't the super-super toxic ones (those being the grandis), but I believe these are mid-range toxicity. I have a bunch that look similar and are candy apple green in color.
I believe this is what I have. How would you go about removing them. Should I just remove the torch from the rock and get rid of the entire rock or just break of the part that the palys are on.

I wouldn’t do either. You can take a steel straw, wrap a rubber band around it to make a seal, shove that into a syphon hose ans scrape those bad boys off the rock while it symphons them out of the tank. Those things are one of the ones you need to be careful with for palytoxin but they aren’t as dangerous as the paly grandis like the ones I have. You can see my grandis behind my hammer in the pic.

Basically all of the bright colorful zoa we have in the hobby are going to be mostly safe. I barehand cut everything I own except my grandis and have never got sick. Only thing ever got me were some trashy wild brown zoa. Those dudes are bad news.

Same. I have done it to move them off the rubble I got them on but since then I don’t even wanna brush against those dudes just to be safe. Also if you haven’t had the lovely experience of it yet, everything they touch withers and dies. They sting the crap outta my other zoa so they are soloing it on a rock.
