Are these sea cucumbers ok for my reef?

Im planning to add one, its 4" in size.
Mine is a 130g 2 years old tank,
low on bioload,
No skimmer, no sump, just a cheato reactor thats 2% of the tank volume.
No3 10
Po4 0.02

Has lps and soft corals and just a single monti.

My tank has very little algae, and is pretty mature.

Sand is 3mm and below.

Also would like to know that what species is this.

It seems Holothuria forskali, to me, is a detritivore sea cucumber, works well in cleaning sand.

All sea cucumbers are potentially dangerous for all aquarium fauna; if very stressed, injured or dead, can release saponins (very powerful and dangerous toxins, including for humans). In one order, the most dangerous (and venomous) sea cucumbers in this sense are the "filterers", like the Australian sea apple cucumbers, but the genus Holothuria is also. In the genus Holothuria, the least dangerous is the cucumber Holothuria atra (Asian black sea cucumber), with only 4 types of saponins, in average, released, against up to 19 types in the others.

I do not read reports of problems caused by sea cucumbers often. Being possible does not mean it always occurs.

Yes, I had Holothuria atra in my tank and always does a good job cleaning the sand.

I say go for it, just make sure you keep them fed. Unless something picks at them constantly, the actual risk of a toxin release is low. I don't know about the black cucumbers, by my apple swells up before releasing toxins, so I get a warning sign

Ha I love your signature kyleindpx, the only thing is I saw a "eye of sauron" zoanthid that was really just a darth maul, still I love lord of the rings and may end up buying just to put it on a mountain in my reef and make jokes about it.

Don't. You don't have enough sand. I have two of these same cukes (6") in a 180 with 3" of sand. And, considering that they crawl up the rock work and the front glass, I don't think I have enough sand for them in terms of square feet of surface area.

Here’s mine cliff hanging . I’ve had mine for a year in a 150 with about 2-3 inchs of sand. He munches sand all day n gets around pretty quick. People always ask me about it, I call it the upper decker Lol.

Mine hasn’t but my fish do. Their body is like a bag of water so they kina jus slide on through. Mine stays on the rock or glass. It might go in between corals but never over them. I used to worry about it getting sucked into a power head but it stays away from them. Who knows maybe I’m just lucky.

The sand, although it seems "molded", does not have any mucus of aggregation, it is easily dismantled with any current of water ...
