Me and a friend like to rename our corals!!
My old school blow pop zoos are called "SMURF ZITS"
his plating pavona is a "DOMBO EAR"

Out of ~100 different wild pieces I have had run though my tank, I have only 2 that I have felt deserved a name, and have been contemplating their names.
For me, that is kind of half the fun of buying a wild piece and hoping it turns into something worthwhile.

Smurf Zits wouldn't be on the top of my list though lol

It all depends on what the coral is, and of course what it looks like.. The trade value of a named coral helps, but I passed up alot of corals that looked ugly, and when I got home looked up the names, and needless to say, ouch!! Shoulda bought them!! Mainly for the trade value!

I just recently named 2 of my original wild corals, mainly to keep track since I finally fragged a couple pieces...
