looking to add a reefbrite led strip to my current fixture . What I'm wondering is of its going to be too much light ?
my tank is mostly sps with some lps down on the bottom . Also will the 8 bulbs wash out whatever the LEDs will provide my other thinking is I can use for dusk dawn

Right now my light schedule is like this

930-1030
2 Ati actinic bulbs are on
1030-630 all bulbs , 2 actinic , 2 purple plus , 4 blue plus bulbs
630-930 2 actinic bulbs

I could run them the times that it's just actinic or instead

Thanks for I put

Nope it shouldnt be.depends on how high you have your fixture. Also keep in mind if your going with the xho, its over twice as powerfull as the tech strip

Hmm did u have the tech lights or xho

Guess I'll have to reconsider maybe I'll just save my money and go with a giesman hybrid

They where the regular ones but I can't see how a extra 12 LEDs on the xho would make a noticeable difference over 8 bulb ati

You will have to run the XHO, like @Sabellafella said. Joy, the owner of Reefbrite, said to me on the phone that her customers always liked the XHO the most with the ATI 8 bulb fixture and that the XHO will still be noticeable even when you are running all 8 bulbs. I run the exact same fixture, with close to the same time timing with actinics, but I had to temporarily put a ReefBreeder Photon on my tank at those times until the XHO's come on to get that nice blue super colorful tank that only LED's provide. You want the brightest version you can get, what sabella is saying is there is an option other than what's on the Reefbrite website; the XHO strip looks a lot like the tech strip, but your LFS or website needs to know that you are ordering the XHO strip from them, not the fixture. I use the exact same light fixture and ordered these: https://premiumaquatics.com/products/reef-brite-xho-48-blue-led-light-strip.html
@Sabellafella runs that combo too, he has that stuff down. That's who I learned from about that strip specifically. Other strips lights don't come close, you need that juice to shine through the T5's. Depends on how deep your tank is, but I bet you have a deep enough one that you want that extra PAR on the SPS as well. That's a nice light man, I have one, but you need the LED's that are super bright to get that LED coloring at night. That's an option to turn on the ReefBrites in the morning and evening, but for the sake of stability I just keep mine on all the time. Not expensive at all to run a really good LED strip all the time, either. Hope that helps, but you found an awesome color combo of ATI's and LED's!!! Congrats! Oh yeah, make sure you order the "Blue" or just "B" as ReefBrite puts it, not the white and not the 50/50, you want the blues in the XHO.

The ATI T5 8 bulb fixture with a Blue Reefbrite XHO strip is the same set-up that Josh, Manager of WWC, has on his own personal tank.
I also have the same. Great Combo!

When I had led strips on my 8 bulb dimmable you could not even tell I had led's with all 8 on , I saw it as a huge waste of money.
Only time you see the leds with the dimmable, is when the bulbs are dimmed less then 30% lol kinda is a waste, but i found the reefbrite helps with growth

Cool thanks for the input , I run my light about 10" above water

How high do u have yours above the water
HAHA! Run mine at 10" also. That light can light up some corals can't it?
@Addicted2ACRO's , that is a killer combination isn't it? I know there are a lot of debates out there about lighting and lighting combos, but IMO the ATI t5 and reefbrite XHO LED's, are the only way I will go when I just want a "plug-n-play, will make a tank look better than any other" combo.
Welcome to the club @ClownnGoby !!! :p

Yeah but if it helps with growth I don't mind spending the money just like to see results on my investments

I have a six bulb ATI Dimmable fixture with a Reef Brite tech strip and it makes a noticeable difference. I'm running 4 blue + and two coral plus, btw.

I'm looking to add an Reefbrite to my ATI 8 bulb dimmable. I asked Joy at MACNA to see the difference between the tech and the XHO. They only had 24" ones there, but the difference in light output between the 2 was crazy. Enough to convince me to get the XHO for sure. It was to bad they didn't have one on the ATI fixtures at the ATI booth, would have liked to see it with the fixture to get a better idea.
