ATI PowerCone 250iS

Got the ATI Powercone 250 iS yesterday. Thought I'd share....

Tight packaging. Going to keep it in case I decide to ship this thing one day.

A new ReefGeek sticker.I love these. An early Xmas present to boot!

It was a $50 dollar gift cert to Reefgeek :victory:

The grid wheel.....

10 minutes running. Milk jug white. Reminiscent of my old Bubble King SM250. Dead silent.

And the air meter...as advertised.

I had wanted one of these since I first saw a picture of it way back when. 24 hours in and I'm pretty happy with it. Skimmed real wet last night. Still trying to find the happy spot with it. It's dead silent. Time will tell....

About 14 hrs after emptying the cup last night. Getting it dialed in...happy with this skimmer so far.

It's worth a look if your in the market. Havnt ran it long enough to form a hard opinion, but I like it so far.

Hey Mike! I insist man. Been a long time. Would love to hang out a bit. Will have some goodies for you too. I don't have quite the system I did years ago, but I like what I'm working on now. Definately something different for me. Eventually will get a thread up here.

I'm on about 250 gallons I'd say. I'm only running about half speed. Maybe a little more. Plan on adding another 50 gallons soon.

if you turn your speed controller up to about 3/4 does your pull 4500 lph

I havn't seen 4500 yet. I've seen it at as high as 3500. I don't have plans in the near future with ozone. I've ran that in the past tho. Was happy with it, so I wouldn't rule it out in the future...

Looks great! I've had my 200iS for almost 3 months now and love it. Took mine a few days to break in and settle to where I wanted it.

Nope, can't crank it up all the way without having it just overflow. I'm running about 3100 LPH on the airflow meter that gets me a wet skimmate and like having the extra oomph if I need it. Water outlet is also wide open.

Thought I'd throw a quick update out there.

Been running about 10 days now. I can say I'm perfectly happy with this skimmer. Pulls great, controlability is awesome. Not one glitch or complaint.

This skimmer replaced a Euro-Reef CS180.

In the past, on a similar sized system I've ran the following:

Bubble King SM250
ATI Bubble Master 250
Euro-Reef RS 250
Octopus SRO that was sized comprably. Forget model #.

Smaller skimmers:

Euro-Reef RS135
Bubble Magus Nac7
SWC BM150
Octopuss Recirc.. Again, forget #. Not a fan of this line anyhow.

Hate to say this, but this reminds me of my old BK. The contolability with this PowerCone is much more convenient. It's only been 10 days tho. I'm not ready to be a cheerleader yet, but I am really happy at this point.

Thanks man. It really does. You ran a BK SM250 on a comparable sized system says a lot. Comparison to that?
