I have this tenuis in Australia. It was collected here.

Don't know of any other rainbow Tenuis collected in Aussie waters. Most of the ones in the US Are from indonesia.

Curious to see what you guys think it is most similar to compared to what's available in the US.

We can't import corals so don't have access to any of the ones available in the US.

This picture was taken under ATI Blue+ tubes.

Looks really beautiful mate, that's about the best rainbowy looking tennuis i've seen from Aus. Just a heads up, all the big name US rainbows have been here for over a year.........

That isn't Danny's rainbow is it ?

Ah that's good to know.

Yeah it is Danny's one. Got the frag from him about 6 months ago

This is under full lighting, i snapped this off the encrusted plug and put it here so i had two colonies in the display. Both are tiny and not shooting any growth yet but after seeing what is coming, and knowing all the other colors are cool without trick lighting i am now a tad excited lol.

Beautiful, looks like a pink and green variant which I have had from indo before but not seen from aussie yet. I am sure once collectors find more spots with colorful tenuis in aussie they will be brought in a lot more, but who knows when that will be because there is a lot of reef out there. I have lost interest in the indo tenuis only because the blue leds change the look of them so much, I never know what it might be in my tank. Keep us updated with this piece! You too Andrew.

That is a nice coral. Some of the super expensive A. Tenuis are Aussie... not all are from Indo. There are some nice Tongan ones too.
Thanks it is really nice. It's still got a lot of colour under whites that it seems some of the indo ones don't.

Didn't realise that there were some from Australia. Doesn't surprise me though a lot of the nice stuff that is collected here is sent overseas because people here won't pay the same as what they will get overseas. Most of our wild colonies we are paying between $30-$75.

This is off topic, but I have always wondered... do you all get blue deresa clams there? They are a holy-grail item for me with only ever a very few making it to the US. (Not my photo)
I have never seen one available here. They might come up but the stores might not be purchasing them.

We don't have a lot of clams available to shops. Most are tank raised ones by a hobbiest on the west coast of Australia. We do get some wild collected clams but not that many to be honest.

They came around maybe 4 years ago and each vendor said how rare they were, but each got like 10 of them :) But I have not seen them since, but actually they may have been squamossas. I am no clam expert though.

It's looking alright. How long ago did you frags the top piece off?

You are running halides yeah? So would be getting decent PAR.

I'm sure we can do a frag swap at some point.

I got the frag about 5 weeks ago and snapped the top off a week ago mate. I run 400W Radiums and T5's. The frag swap thing was just a joke btw, i don't do that stuff normally. The only reason i have the piece from Danny is because he sent it as a gift for me to the guy who is my back up buddy for cool acros and he dropped it off to me on his way home from picking his box up at the airport.

The acro was collected in July this year by Ultra Coral Australia from memory. This is the colony from which Danny bought a chunk not long after collection. Looks more like vermiculata to me.
