I have two Eheim feeders for my tanks and am happy with them.Anyone have a good suggestion for an auto feeder for pellets or flakes?
If you have an Apex- apex AFSWe are prepping for a vacation this summer. I was wondering what would be a very good automatic feeder. A few of you seem to be comfortable with your Eheim. So I feel comfortable going that route. Thanx
I liked the posts I read here about the Eheim automatic feeder. So I quickly watch a video on its operation. Even a 70 year-old, like myself, can operate that Eheim. ThanxIf you have an Apex- apex AFS
IF NOT, Eheim is excellent unit and super easy to program
I dropped my Eheim in my 110 extra high so it went 30" underwater, pulled the battery out and let it dry for a couple of days. Still works flawlessly almost 3 years later. Great on batteries too. You don't even have to crush the flake! We are prepping for a vacation this summer. I was wondering what would be a very good automatic feeder. A few of you seem to be comfortable with your Eheim. I have to disagree with you on your "Don't get it wet!" admonition. I recently managed to drop one of my Eheim feeders into one of my marine tanks (dopey me!). I quickly pulled it out, removed the batteries, and ran the unit under tap water for a few minutes. Then I shook the water out, and let it dry for a few days. I actually managed to resuscitate it, and it is now back in service. Thank you Eheim!I bought the eheim one on recommendation from users here........
Don't get it wet! After 4 weeks on my tank, the evaporation from my tank killed it. It still worked, display showed correct time, I could still program it, but the dispenser motor just kept spinning. I broke it apart to see what was the issue. Salt creep all over the circuit board!
Bought a cheap knockoff brand on amazon(very similiar to the eheim one), been in use over a year now with 0 issue. I do like the fact I can fill it without pulling the canister off the motor like the eheim one. And the electronics have a conformal coating so evaporation from the tank won't kill the electronics.

Eheim Everyday Fish Feeder with the additional Feeding station that helps deliver the food underwater and not floating on the surface. I am also waiting to see if the Hydros controller will come with a compatible feeder (I saw an image of an Eheim, maybe they are putting something together)Anyone have a good suggestion for an auto feeder for pellets or flakes?
