Hope everyone had a great turkey day with their families.

Its been a while since most of you have heard from me, but im still alive.

Though I dont have much time for saltwater these days, i still manage to snap a pic or two from time to time.

I took these pics at my sisters ordination yesterday. It was just starting to rain, so i only had a second to snag a couple. Inside, they had a whole crew hired so the camera stayed in the bag.

Anyhow, first you will see the original pic and then the adjusted one.

The simplicity and power of this program amazes me. Anyone who shoots a lot of scenic pics should pick this one up. You can get a free trial on their site. Again the name of the plug-in is TOPAZ ADJUST.

All pics were taken at 1600 ISO handheld, F/5.6

Let me know what you guys think.

Nice. HAve you adjusted any COral pics with this software yet. I would like to see some :)

ok, please keep in mind that the resolution of the picture was VERY VERY low compared to what you SHOULD work with.

Having said that, it certainly could add a lot of artistic qualities to the pics. Seeing what it did here, i will likely locate the high res image and do it again.

not horrible, but not great as of right now.

I'm not seeing that it offers much that you can't get by making some basic curves adjustments. In your first example, it appears that the sky lost what little gray it had once it was adjusted. With HDR you would have retained the gray and probably had more because you would have a shot exposed for the sky. Guess I'm not seeing the benefit. If I have time, I'll check the website and see if it changes my mind.

it all depends on how far you want to push it.

Its far from true HDR, but it can still produce nice results.

perhaps another example

again, its not for everyone, and these are far from polished. Just quickly done to see if it was something i wanted to pursue. Myself, i think artistically, it gives a lot of options.

I love it!! That last show with the sky is sweet!

Do you have a link for this so I can try it out??

that's pretty cool but which program would benefit an average photographer the most? I might try it out... the problem I have the most is getting rid of the blue when taking pics... :)

Well this is a plugin Marv that you use with Photoshop.

I think Photoshop elements is a great program for all levels of photographers.

yes, this in no way was intended for reef photography.

its just a way for the bored photographer (me) to get something new out there.

it gives me one more way of looking at subjects as i evaluate what to shoot.

they have a 30 day free trial for all their stuff.

Im certain their is a flickr group dedicated to this plugin.

I don't know much about photography but your work inspires me to do some research on the topic! Keep 'em coming!
