Back to reefin (not chong's version)

Rob! Welcome to R2R. you are in the sweet spot for SW information/conversation/support. You sound like a solid fit. Are you going peninsula, along-the-wall, in-wall, or free standing? How did you decide? I hope you share your thoughts.

My wish would be in-wall... but alas the only practical layout option available without taking up remodeling my house as a secondary hobby would be an along the wall install. I wanted to do a fish room as the wall i have available has a mechanical room behind it but of course, there sits the furnace lol! Having just literally rebuilt and flipped my previous home 6 months ago I don't have the stomach for anymore home renovations for a while :).

I will be able to locate things like RODI, ATO/AWC and a work space etc back there further away from the tank, but my sump will have to go below the stand for now, which is the only thing i anticipate going in the cabinet at this time. I am still working out ideas on how i want to organize my controllers etc. With tank lead times etc I have time to think this all through fortunately. Half the fun in this is planning and seeing it come to life down the road. It's my intention to get fairly detailed in my build thread in the hopes that others don't make the same mistakes I'm inevitably going to end up making as I learn me a few things along the way haha.

Step 1 complete, just pulled the trigger on a 180 gallon tank from Miracles! Derek has been responsive and good to work with so far. Now the 10 week countdown begins! Excited but it's still probably a bit too soon for a build thread

Just saw your intro, WELCOME! How's it going with the stand progress? Would love to see the build progress in pictures (for the whole thing).
I just ordered it yesterday from Miracles! I'll be firing up a build thread pretty soon once i gather my thoughts on prepping my fish room since that' where I'll be starting while i do the waiting for the tank haha. Now if i can just get Bashea to respond so i can get moving on a sump... I'm waiting on a quote for anodizing the aluminum, once that gets back I'll make a decision on the vendor for the aluminum extrusions. I'll likely do a time lapse video on the stand build for everyone's amusement.
