I don't live in the correct area but I agree that would be really awesome
Way cool what are the chances it could live in the wild once it gets too big? Or would it just starve? Be rad if he could go back after you fatten him up

Unfortunately not. Like any wild predatory animal that becomes domesticated too long becomes less self sufficient and unable to hunt.

With some animals I would completly agree. But being very near the top of the food chain, ill bet in the right place it would have atleast a chanse. But I would never take the chanse. To the local aquarium it will go :-)
Keep us updated! Can't wait to see him in 6 months!
I will. I hope to get a feeding vid soon. I'm not sure how often they should eat. And the lfs fed him a tuffy today. So I figure ill try on thursday. :-)

Here are the feeding vids. Quick as they are. Lol one from tongs and one freeswimming. (For a second):-D love this fish. I need cuda names. Any suggestions?

Good suggestion but idk. I want a really cool name this fish is awesome. I like It more than I thought I would. Such personality. Swims right up to me like greeting. Seems to watch us. Probably just predatory. But much more interactive than my reef fish:-)

This feeding vid is cool. See him dart by at the beginning. Then watch the goldfish get swallowed. You can see it in his throat. And those teeth. Really love this fish!

You should feed the barracuda smaller foods then the goldfish, like the small minnows or guppies. Large foods will sometimes decompose before the fish can finish digesting the food which can cause problems. Did you try feeding it frozen or pellets?

I usually use tuffys. But store was out. I figured sm goldfish would be ok because in my research it says that they eat prey the length of there body by biting it in half. I tried a squirt of my regular food slurry including mysis, pellets, and rods food. Not interrested. He targets movement. I might be able to train him.

Mysis is probably be to small, same with rods unless it is the predator version. The fish will lay not attention to it. Get squid, clams, shrimp or fish at the grocery store and feed it small pieces of that. Since it already associates your hand with food and strikes quick you will be able to train it to eat frozen quickly. Check this thread out.
