Picked up one of these cheap at my lfs. I have 2 oscellaris clowns already. Do you think they will get on ok? Tank is only 25 gallons.

Yes most likely will end up with death of at least one of them. Bad idea for a 25 gallon
Damm. They were selling the clarkiis in a pair but I just bought one as I thought it wouldn’t be so agressive

The issue is that the tank is not going to provide enough space for more than one pair of Clownfish. Your bonded pair will both try to throw the new comer out.

Please do research before you buy any livestock.
Clowns are very aggressive and only one pair should be housed in tank unless you have a tank that is 100 + gallons

Understandable. But anyways yeah, likely there'll be fighting and death. Best option is to separate them now.

Yeah the barrier reef clown is still in QT. May try to sell it or see if the fish shop will take it back for a refund

I’d argue for a much larger tank than just 100+ gallons. I’d say to really play it safe 250-300+ if mixing Clownfish pairs especially if there are aggressive species involved like anything in the Tomato or Clarkii complexes, or the Maroons.

Yeah mixing clownfish pairs is extremely difficult. We once had 3 pairs in a 150 and had to separate them all because of their aggression. Clarkiis tend to be pretty aggressive and your other clowns won’t like the new addition very mucb
