Agreed!

And I'm having a similar dilemma. I have T5/Kessil hybrid over my tank now. Debating if I should ditch what I have and put my old Lumenarc Mini Stealth over this tank. Kinda leaning towards the Lumenarc to be honest.

I want to test my theory that T-5 lights are better for sps corals. I had a great tank back in 2006 that had a 6-bulb ATI Power Module and growth + color was the best. I really like my AI hydra lights, but I can't keep from wondering if my sps would be doing better under T-5.

I hear you on this one. I started my first tank back in 2004. Don't let my joined date fool you on here. Been a member of other forums since '06.

My first tank had vho's. Followed by mh/vho actinics. That tank did great. Next one was all T5. That tank did great as well. Both were plug it in and set a on/off time. Super easy. No trying to 'dial in lighting' back then! Set it and forget. Just needed to remember to change out bulbs, which was never an issue for me.

Sorry for the quite days, Life kept me busy, but I was able to mount and post the frag ;-)

Andre's frag...……Arrival 08/28/2018........Size about an inch…….
Mounted on about 45 degree angled, medium to high light and average flow spot……….

I will send a new ICP out tomorrow morning and I anticipate heavy dosing of Reef Steroids !!! No mercy here……… ;-)
Will notify as usual my historical ATI ICP results in my built thread.

Here some pictures

Oh no!!! I didn't realize that was the official thread one! I went back in and edited my post.

Haha! I figured you thought we were here. Just messing with ya, but I do agree it will keep it easier over a year! :-)

I feel like a total moron now . I was trying to do some friendly banter and it blew up in my face, lol.

Lol. I get them confused when I see the alerts. I always have to double check. Gonna be cool to see all the pics over the year though. If I can keep mine from self destructing before that. ;Hilarious

May I suggest @bubbaque that when you post each months in the "official" thread you quote your old posts so by the end you have a post with 12 photos in it?
I think that towards the end it will start to become to many pages to dig though. It will end up being 3 people posting pics towards the end before the page is filled up. I think it's good if you want to quote your first pic and just add that months pic each time but I wouldn't quote all the pics.

I was going to create a separate thread just for the final pic just so Adam doesn't have to dip through so many updates.

Corals have arrived. Not sure what that one between stag priority and Spainbow says though..

Well This is the first day I clicked on this rules thread so I guess I already have strike 1. ;Facepalm

I received mine on 8/23/18. And my s7 permanently shut down on me a couple days ago, with the only backup an old iphone until I get a new s7 this proves how horrible iphone is for reef pics. Unbelievably horrible. #neverbuyiphone This is the best I can do until my new phone gets here. Thanks Adam for the freebie!

Don't hate, mine was taken with an Iphone too. :D

End of the Month submission.
Official entry photo for comparison (frag arrived 8/8, Frag rack shot was taken on 8/10)
I thought I'd include the photo from a few days later when I glued it to the rock work and discovered I couldn't get the numbers on the blue ruler to show up in the new location so new location/new ruler which should remain constant for the rest of the contest

And here is today's 'end of the month' submission. (PE usually much better but new arrival BC frag baggies kept bumping into it during acclimation when I realized I better shoot a picture today cuz I work tomorrow):

So, 22 days in the tank and growth hasn't budged from 2.8 cm.

current tank parameters:
ALK - 7.7
Calcium - 455
Mg- 1400
pH - 8.1 - 8.3
Nitrate - 2.0ppm
PO4 - 0.00 - 0.04 ppm (still trying to tune in my ATS's flow and light cycles to get steady PO4 levels)
SG - 1.026
Temp - 77-79

6 bulb ATI (three blue+, two actinic, 1 purple+) with 1 XHO actinic Reef Brite strip
Experimenting with Red Sea Colors trace elements at about 1/2 recommended dose (waiting for results from Triton to see if I'm on target)
It is encrusting nicely!

Do we need to do a picture for this month after doing our initial pics a week or two ago or did those all count for august?

Got my corals yesterday. Unfortunately my package got held up for a day and had a distinct funk smell when it arrived. I got 6 frags and as of right now only 3 made it. Luckily one of those is the snipers blue, going to try to get the official entry tonight.
