Be taken seriously!! Post those tanks!!

Sometimes a person with a high post count can be the one to talk to, sometimes not. It depends what specific forum they dwell in. If they live and breathe Reef Discussion, then one might imagine their posts carry more validity than someone that dwells in The Lounge.

I spent many years on Reef Central helping others. I amassed a lot of posts, and in that time there were plenty that said "I don't know the answer to your question, but I'll try to help anyway..." with questions or alternate thinking. Sometimes it worked out, sometimes others had to chime in to assist and find that solution.

However, how the words are posted is just as important as the content. How we interact will affect the outcome, and never forget the lurkers that just read quietly. They too are learning.

Great thread.
This thread doesn't take into account nutty people like me. :p I actually want to sell my DT to setup more QTs so I can buy more fish with diseases to experiment on: https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/humblefishs-150-gal-mixed-reef.189950/. You don't hear that everyday! :D

Maybe I'll start a build thread with all my QTs once I get it all going the way I want. :)

I love this and Humblefish should be commended on this. I also try to buy sick fish but for a different reason. They are usually cheap, or free and free is good. Almost everything a fish can get can easily be cured unless the thing is laying on it's side texting SOS while receiving last rites.
Like Melev, I also used to give lots of advice. I rarely go on ich, stray voltage, quarantine or hair algae threads any more because of the arguments. That's why I wrote a book with my ideas, this way when people don't agree with me instead of arguing, they throw eggs at my house.
I am old, am old school, am stubborn and have some weird ideas that are not main stream because I learned them from spending time with fish underwater and not texting some professor who teaches Liberal arts in Arkansas.
I also think it is a good idea when giving advice to let people know a little about you. I see so much advice about things like hair algae and you learn the guy started the tank last Tuesday, in the afternoon, about 2:00-2:30 in the afternoon.
You want to know about hair algae. This picture of my tank was many years ago and I like to post my tanks problems as well as it's successes.

I hate it when people take me seriously
